The royal beaches of Milocer are located 8 km from Budva and are considered the best on the Budva Riviera in Montenegro. In the low season (October-May) admission is free, in summer 75-120 € per day.
Two bays: King's Beach and Queen's Beach are located between the villages and Sveti Stefan.
King's Bay has sand, while Queen's Beach is covered with small to medium pebbles.

If you are, you can come to these beaches by car.
I went to the Royal Beaches on foot from Budva. It took almost two hours with stops, but the walk was pleasant.
From the side, it’s only a 10-minute walk along a shady path along the sea.

Conclusion. Not ready to pay 100€+ for a holiday on Milocer beach - come to Montenegro in April-May or October. In spring the sea is cold (+18C), in October +23C.
Queen's Beach (Kraljicina Plaza) in the vicinity of Bar is a famous and at the same time inaccessible Montenegrin beach. The picturesque coast of Pechin Bay, located next to Canj Bay, is surrounded by rocks, so it is most convenient to get to it by sea.
The excellently equipped beach oasis is considered one of the best holiday destinations in the vicinity of Bar, its quality is noted at the international level - the honorary Blue Flag. This award symbolizes the European standard of beach quality: clean water, the presence of the necessary infrastructure, safety and environmental education on their territory.
The beach is suitable primarily for lovers of a romantic and secluded holiday.
It is worth noting that in Montenegro there is another Royal Beach, which is located to the northwest, next to the Sveti Stefan peninsula.
Characteristics of Royal Beach
The entrance to the sea on the beach is gentle, safe for children, but at the same time there is a noticeable increase in depth, you can swim. The coastline is mostly sandy, although there may be some pebbles.
The length of Queen's Beach is about 200 meters, the width is from 20 to 40 meters.
The water here is very clean and clear, and the location of the beach in a small bay protects it from winds and strong sea waves.
Many tourists note in their reviews the beauty and picturesqueness of this place: a small beach surrounded by rocks overgrown with abundant vegetation, the emerald water of the Adriatic Sea - all this attracts the eye and delights. And in the evening, the beach becomes an ideal place for a date: the absence of people, a romantic atmosphere and the proximity of nature.
Infrastructure
Currently, Kralichna plaza is equipped with comfortable sun loungers and umbrellas, made in the same style, which can be rented during your holiday. Along with the paid area, there is a fairly spacious free area where you can sunbathe, sitting on your towels and blankets.
Visitors to the beach also have access to: changing cabins, toilets, showers and a cafe where you can order drinks, snacks, salads, meat and seafood dishes.
Due to the inaccessibility of Queen's Beach, the range of entertainment offered here is not very wide. As a rule, vacationers prefer diving or snorkeling in the beach area, since the transparency of the water promotes these types of activities.
History of the name of the beach
This beach is named after Queen Milena Vukotic, wife of the second prince and only king of Montenegro, Nikola I, who ruled the country for a total of 58 years - from 1860 to 1918. Her fate is very interesting, because she played a significant role in the history of the country.
Born into a noble Montenegrin family, Milena was betrothed at the age of 6 to the nephew and heir of the childless Prince of Montenegro, Danilo I. The purpose of this was to cement an alliance between two influential families.
When Milena was 13, Danilo I was killed and her fiancé became seriously ill, so in order to provide the country with an heir, a decision was made on an urgent wedding. Gradually, having matured and learned the intricacies of politics and social life, Milena became a respected and influential person in the country. When her husband was away, she replaced him and took care of government affairs.
Queen Milena loved to relax on the shores of the Adriatic Sea, and during one of her boat trips she saw a small secluded beach that she really liked. So this beach in the vicinity of Bar became her frequent vacation spot and was named Kraljicina Plaza.
Seasonality of holidays
The climate on Queen's Beach, as in Montenegro as a whole, is characterized as Mediterranean with long dry summers and mild winters with frequent rains. The high season for beach holidays is considered to be the period from May to September, when the air temperature during the day stays above +21 °C and there is practically no precipitation.
The hottest months are July and August, during which the air warms up during the day to +30 °C and above, and the water reaches +25...26 °C. In September, the heat gradually begins to subside (the average daily air temperature is +26 °C), but the water temperature in the sea remains high - about +24.3 °C.

How to get to Queen's Beach in Montenegro
The beach is located in the northern part of the Bar Riviera, about a kilometer west of the small village of Chan. It can only be reached by water.
The most common option to get to Queen's Beach is to take a boat or speedboat from the pier in Chana (they run very often, and the sailing is literally a few minutes). However, water transport also comes here from other cities of Montenegro: Sutomore, Bar, Petrovac, Budva.
As a rule, boats leave for the beach in the morning (about 8:00-9:00), and pick up vacationers from here in the evening (about 17:00-18:00), but some make another trip in the afternoon (about 13:00) for those tourists who want to stay on the beach for only half a day.

For many tourists, the resort town of Bar is associated with a large port, Montenegrin shopping and a ferry to Italy, but not with beaches and beach holidays. However, upon closer acquaintance with the city, it turns out that there are decent beaches in the resort and its outskirts.
Here are a few advantages that this Montenegrin resort has:
City beaches are washed by the Adriatic Sea, it is the same as in Budva, Becici, Petrovac and other seaside resorts. Unlike the listed cities, there are slightly fewer tourists in Bar, which means the beaches are less congested.
The Bar area has more than 10 beaches, everyone can find their favorite beach.

Ok, now let's move directly to the beaches. Bloggers classify literally all the beaches in the neighborhood as lordly beaches, some manage to capture Ulcinj with its Velikaya beaches, Sutomore, etc.
I won’t do this for several reasons, firstly, why mislead you, secondly, it is very difficult for carless tourists to get to some beaches, and thirdly, I will write separate posts about beaches in other cities.
Beaches of the resort and suburbs on the map
I marked all the beaches described in this post on the map; turn off unnecessary map layers if they bother you.
Topolitsa city beach
The beach is located in the very center of the city, next to a large port. The length of the beach is no more than 600 meters, on one side it abuts the port, on the other the Zheleznitsa River. But between Topolitsa and the river there is another tiny beach.
Topolitsa beach and the seabed are covered with very large pebbles; it is advisable to have special shoes. Vacationers have everything they need for a comfortable beach holiday: rental of sun loungers and umbrellas, cafes, retail outlets, changing rooms, etc.
Between the beach and the city quarters there is a picturesque embankment, on which there are a sufficient number of cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops, all sorts of entertainment for children, and other tourist delights.
As I said earlier, there is a large yacht marina and port nearby, for this reason, local residents prefer to swim in other places. Although the sea (seemingly) is quite clean, sometimes the waves wash garbage onto the shore.
Royal Beach
The beach is very tiny, its length is no more than 200 meters; some tourists consider it a logical continuation of the city beach. In fact, this is how it is, in the north the beach abuts the Zheleznitsa River.
However, this city beach has its admirers. Finding it is very easy: just north of the main Barsky beach, there is a wide pebble strip of shore, here you will find rentals of sunbeds and umbrellas, cafes, attractions, showers and toilets. If you go deeper into the city, there will be a large tennis court; it can serve as a landmark.
Zhukotrlitsa beach, also known as Shushan beach
The name of this beach was given by the plant of the same name, which grows nearby. This is the scientific name of the shrub; in the Serbian language it is called Zhukva. A shrub with bright yellow flowers, which was previously used for weaving, and the stems of the plant were harvested and soaked right on this beach.
Today, the beach is better known as Shushan, which in turn is the name of one of the suburbs of Bar. It is along this area that one of the largest Bar beaches stretches. The easiest way to get from the city center to Shushan Beach is on foot; you don’t need any transport.
Shushan Beach is large and spacious, its length is more than 1,200 meters, but in high season even it can be crowded. There is an embankment running parallel to the beach; in the summer there are several cafes here.
Tall pine trees grow between the beach and the embankment; the trees perform several important functions at once: aesthetic, fill the air with a pleasant aroma, and create natural shade from the sun. On the beach itself there are all kinds of water activities, rental of sun loungers and umbrellas; during the tourist season it is crowded.
Red Beach
About three kilometers from the center of Bar, the most underrated beach of the entire Bar Riviera is located, I’m talking about Red Beach. Please do not confuse it with the Sutomorsky Red Beach.
Look for it in a small, natural bay, somewhere between Bar and Sutomore. There is parking for motorists near the beach; carless tourists can get there by bus. I can’t call Red Beach a city beach, so I’ll classify it as a suburban beach.
The entire length of Red Beach is no more than 300 meters, or even less. Nearby are pine forests, pristine Montenegrin nature, which literally hides tiny coves from prying eyes, and of course clear sea water.
The name of the beach comes from the pale red hue of the pebbles and sand; I saw a similar color of stones near the island of Sveti Stefan. Probably, if you look hard enough, you can find several beaches with a similar color in Montenegro. There is practically no tourist infrastructure on the beach, especially out of season, and it is not particularly needed here.
Wild beach at Cape Ratac
This beach is located in the suburbs of Brar and is most easily accessible by car, but you can also benefit from bus service. The so-called “Wild Beach” is located halfway from Bar towards Sutomore. If you drive from Bar towards Sutomore, then look for it near Cape Ratac.
The beach is “wild” only outside the tourist season, so be prepared to see vacationers on it. On the beach itself there is a small cafe with a minimal choice, but still you won’t die of hunger. The shore is rocky with very large pebbles, the stones are stacked in such a way that they make it possible to find a secluded place.
Big Sands beach in the village of Dobra Voda
This spacious, rocky beach is located in the resort village of Dobra Voda. The tourist village is located at a decent distance from the center of Bar, for this reason I classified the beaches of Small and Big Sands as suburban recreation areas. If you are traveling by car, then look for a beach somewhere halfway from Bar to Ulcinj.
Big Sands beach is the main swimming place in the Dobra Voda resort, but there is no “sand” on the beach, but rather large pebbles. In all other respects, the beach fully corresponds to its name: it is large, wide and roomy, ready to receive hundreds of vacationers, there are many private hotels and apartments nearby. The beach infrastructure is quite developed, there is: rental of sun loungers and umbrellas, cafes and small shops, changing cabins, toilets, etc.
Small Sands beach in the village of Dobra Voda
This beach is also located in the village of Dobra Voda; it is much smaller than its neighbor, and not all vacationers will like it. The problem is the rocky shore, which can pose a serious danger during a strong wave. The small beach is encased in rocks, so swimming here is not recommended in strong waves.
If you live in the neighborhood, you can relax there, but I wouldn’t recommend going here purposefully. There is no tourist infrastructure on the beach, the capacity is very small.
Have an even tan and have a good rest!
On the Budva Riviera, between the villages of Przno and Sveti Stefan, there are two cozy bays with magnificent beaches – the King’s and the Queen’s. But if the King’s beach is mentioned by tourists, then the Queen’s beach (Kraljičina plaža, and on the map it’s Queen’s beach), located a little further, for some reason has not yet received this attention. Meanwhile, this beach is worthy of its mention among numerous beaches of Montenegro, if only because of their unique and romantic, but not invented by rumor, history (not to mention everything else).
The queen is a queen everywhere and always, even in Africa! And she had her own passions, including the sea and the beach.
A small but cozy sandy beach about two hundred meters long, located in a small crescent-shaped bay of incredible beauty. Surrounded by rocks, cypresses and olive trees, next to the summer royal palace, this beach became the favorite vacation spot of the former Montenegrin queen Milena Karadjordjevic, which is how the beach got its current name.
There is no smoke without fire, and I heard a story that the Royal Beach was used by both the male and female members of the royal family. But the Queen’s Beach was used exclusively by women, and men’s access there was strictly prohibited. The fair sex has its own little preferences. And here, as they say, “girls to the right, boys to the left.”
Now a little history. Queen Milena Vukotic was the wife of Montenegrin King Nikola the First, one of the most famous Balkan rulers before the First World War. The fate of this woman is very interesting, since the history of Montenegro, the joys and difficulties of life, the vicissitudes of fate, and a happy woman’s case are intertwined in her.
Milena was born into a noble Montenegrin family. Her parents, in order to seal the union, the purpose of which was the liberation of the homeland and the continuation of the ruling dynasty, betrothed the little girl to Crown Prince Nikola. But after the death of the prince’s father, a decision was made about an urgent wedding. Milena got married when she was a thirteen-year-old girl. Thanks to her intelligence, excellent education, kindness and ingenuity, Milena very quickly learned all the intricacies of royal etiquette, politics, diplomacy and management, and after a few years she began to gain strength and influence. Queen Milena did not deny herself a holiday on the shores of the Adriatic Sea and during one of her yacht trips, she found a small amazing corner. She liked this place so much that she ordered to make a beach here and began to relax here with her friends-maids of honor all the time, preferring this place to all other places on the coast of Montenegro. Very soon, both the king’s summer residence and a park for alleys appeared here! Truly, beauty rules the world!
Now this is one of the most beautiful and prestigious beaches on the entire Montenegrin coast and it is a vacation spot for top Montenegrin leaders and various celebrities.
However, if you can go to the Royal Beach and even use its services, then, as before, access to the Queen’s Beach is strictly limited. Today, the summer residence of the President of Montenegro is located on its territory and the beach is intended only for hotel guests or government delegations.
For the convenience of vacationers, the beach is equipped to the highest standard: soft sunbeds, umbrellas, changing rooms, showers, toilets, a rescue service is on duty on the shore, there is a first-aid post, and the staff will deliver any drinks and snacks upon your first request. With special passes and preliminary applications, small boats and yachts sometimes enter the bay with weary travelers or curious people.
Without any doubt, a walk and trip to Queen’s Beach, the pearl of the beaches not only of the Budva Riviera but throughout Montenegro, is an unforgettable adventure.

Alushta beaches – “Royal”
Many tourists consider “Royal” one of the best beaches in Alushta. Even despite the lack of entertainment. Perhaps the convenient location, cleaner sea and the absence of huge crowds of people played a significant role in the rating.
Location, description
The Royal Beach is adjacent to, but holidays with children are not advisable here. If you are vacationing with a family or small children, it is better to go to the nearby beach. The coastal strip is covered with large pebbles. Therefore, you cannot do without special shoes and air mattresses.
There are practically no traditional sea activities typical of most beaches in resort towns. There isn't even a cafe. If you prefer to relax, as they say, “to the fullest,” you should not choose this place.
Mostly people come here to avoid huge crowds of tourists. Those for whom the availability of certain entertainment is not particularly important. Due to the fact that there are not many people here, the sea is not very crowded, and the shore is much cleaner.
In addition, the basic benefits of civilization are still present. At the height of the tourist season, a rental point for umbrellas and sun loungers opens on the royal beach. There are showers and changing rooms, toilets, trash cans.
If you want to enjoy the pleasant coolness of the shade of the trees, you can go to the adjacent park – “Primorsky”. There are more than 60 species of different plants. By the way, it is in the park area that the famous villa “Otrada” (built in 1880) is located.
Well, if you still decide to come to the beach with your children, do not deny them the pleasure, take them to the dolphinarium. It is located nearby, the prices are of course a little bit steep, but believe me, the genuine delight of the kids is worth it. They will receive a lot of positive emotions and impressions.
How to get to the Royal Beach
It is better to go here with your own or rented car. This is the most convenient and simplest option. Using the map as your guide, you will definitely not lose your way. Coordinates and map are at the bottom of the page. For those travelers who prefer to use public transport services, a minibus is suitable.
Minibuses No. 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 26 depart from the bus station to the Korolevsky beach area. Get off at the Sovetskaya Square stop and walk about one kilometer towards the coast. There is another option - come to the beach and along the sea, through the “children’s”, go to the royal beach.
