Coast of Phan Thiet and Mui Ne

These two resorts are located only twenty kilometers from each other, so consider them as a whole. The resort area of Phan Thiet is several kilometers away from the city. A lot of young people who love water sports and golf have a rest here. Signs in Russian hang everywhere, the cafe offers a menu in Russian.

The Mui Ne Peninsula is also famous for its surfing and kiting schools, of which there are more than twenty. They employ instructors who speak Russian. For an hour of surfing, they charge about fifty dollars, kitesurfing - seventy dollars.

You can relax in these resorts in any month. The main influx of tourists falls on the period from November to April. But the sea is calmer, on the contrary, from April to November.

Hotels are represented by bungalows, villas, buildings of respectable hotels. Each offers customers its own beach, equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas. Prices for double rooms in hotels by the sea vary around thirty dollars. Victoria Resort (four stars) is considered a very good hotel.

As for the review of the beaches, it is as follows:

    1. Central beach of Phan Thiet located right in the city. Suitable for those who are too lazy to travel far.
    2. Tien Tan (Phan Thiet, Ke Ga lighthouse area)- quiet place. Water brings a lot of debris and turbidity due to large waves. If the first one is regularly cleaned, then it is difficult to get rid of the dregs. The entire infrastructure ends with the work of hotels. There is practically no entertainment.
    3. Puhai Beach (near Phan Thiet)- quiet, surrounded by respectable hotels that monitor the cleanliness and grooming of the coastal zone.
    4. Khon Rum (twelve kilometers from Mui Ne)- solitary and beautiful place without entertainment and hotels. City bus number one goes here.
    5. Rang (Mui Ne central beach) has a developed infrastructure, many hotels, schools of active sports. It's always crowded here. The entrance to the water is gentle. Passages to many sections of the beaches are blocked by hotels.

Where to relax on the island of Phu Quoc?

The largest island of the country, located in the Gulf of Thailand, has its own airport. It is considered one of the most popular resorts due to the abundance of beautiful and well-groomed beaches. Offers its guests a lot of entertainment:

    • many restaurants and cafes.

The most luxurious hotel is LaVerandaResort & Spa, which has a huge tropical garden and a French bakery. In general, living on the island is expensive compared to other Vietnamese resorts.

The best beaches on the island are:

We bring to your attention a small video review of Bai Sao beach.

For Russian tourists, when vacationing in Vietnam, beach holidays are in the first place. With this in mind, package tours to resorts are compiled. Tours without sea holidays in this country are extremely rare.
On the map (below on this page), blue stars indicate the main beaches or their chains. Clicking on the star will take you to the beach description page. Not all beaches are marked on the map due to the fact that there are a lot of them.

Tran Phu city beach and a line of hotels in Nha Trang. This is perhaps the most famous beach in Vietnam.

In Vietnamese, the word for beach is bãi, pronounced bai. This word can be found at the beginning of the name of many Vietnamese beaches. The long beach is bãi dài (pronounced as a cross between "by zay" and "by dai").

The beaches in Vietnam are sandy, the sand is white and yellow-brown. There are only a few pebble beaches along the coast. One of them is located in Tui Fong County, Binh Thuan Province and is interesting because the pebbles on it are multi-colored: blue, gray, yellow, white and purple. Another part of the pebble beaches is located on the small islands of Kien Giang province.
The descent into the water, in most cases, is gentle or of medium steepness. On a gentle slope at low tides, the water edge moves towards the sea, sometimes significantly. But there are very few of them.

Secluded Dailan Beach, 80 km north of Nha Trang.

Most of the beaches are located on the mainland coast. Of the island ones, the most popular are on the island of Phu Quoc. The popularity of beach holidays in the Condao archipelago is gradually increasing.
The beaches on Cat Ba and Tuan Chau in Halong Bay are slightly worse in their characteristics.
The beaches on smaller islands are often even better than those on the mainland and larger islands, but they have little or no recreational infrastructure.

The most famous beaches in the world of Vietnam are: in the south - the beaches of Nha Trang and Bai Dai on the island of Phu Quoc, in the central part of the country - "Chinese Beach", referring to the beaches of Da Nang and Cua Dai (pronounced in Vietnamese approximately as "cua hai") near the town Hoi An in Central Vietnam.
The northernmost beach in Vietnam is Cha Co, the southernmost is Khai Long.

According to the totality of natural characteristics, it is possible that the best choice are the beaches in Shongkau. Here is the longest period of comfortable rest, clean water and sand. But they are not yet for package tours - the infrastructure is poorly developed. There are only two new hotels in the whole area and they are both expensive: one 4-star and one 5-star. Tourists who are counting on a more budget holiday will have to rent an apartment.

    Features by terrain

The beaches of northern Vietnam are divided into two parts by the Red River Delta.
The first is north of the Red River delta. They are found on some of the islands in Halong Bay as well as on the mainland up to the border with China. Comfortable sea water temperature lasts from the end of March to the end of October. Beach holidays here in the summer are hindered by high temperatures, high air temperatures and rains.
The second is south of the Red River delta. They are on the mainland. Comfortable temperature of sea water lasts from the end of March to the end of November. The climate is slightly different from the area of the first group of beaches. The summer months are less rainy, while September is the opposite.

In central Vietnam, the dry period lasts from March to August. Comfortable sea water temperature lasts from early March to early December. However, in October-November it rains heavily and therefore a normal beach holiday in these two months is possible only in between typhoons and floods. In December-February, the water temperature is 22-23 °C.

The beaches of central Vietnam have their advantages. These are breezes, high salinity of water, ample opportunities for water sports.

In southern Vietnam, the water temperature rarely drops below 25 ° C, and only rains can interfere with a beach holiday. The rainiest months are June, July and September, but in terms of precipitation intensity they cannot be compared with autumn average Vietnam.

Sea resorts and beaches in Vietnam first developed near big cities. In the 20th century, this was done by the French colonial administration, then the US Army for the rest of their military personnel. Therefore, the beaches were not always located in the most suitable climate places. Currently, the beaches of the extreme south have the greatest development prospects, where the air and water temperature almost never drops below 25 C, typhoons and storms are less common than in the north, and the humid climate is not as pronounced as in other parts of the country. This is the island of Phu Quoc, which has reached an acceptable level, and the island of Condao, which is being pulled up to it, on which hotels are being built and where the number of flights from Ho Chi Minh City has increased.

    Transport and infrastructure

Along the coast, especially in South Vietnam, there are many beautiful sandy beaches in which the infrastructure and the entertainment industry are not developed or little developed. However, many of these beaches have small hotels, bungalows. Sometimes they are owned by foreigners. Rest on such beaches will cost 2-3 times cheaper than in well-known resorts. At the same time, they are located a few tens to hundreds of meters from the main highway No. 1 or from the railway.
There are no official nude sea beaches (for nudists) or any other special type in Vietnam.

Common to the beaches, where there are restaurants and cafes, is the abundance of local seafood dishes. Often there is some kind of fishing village nearby, which supplies restaurants with fresh fish, crabs, and shellfish every day.

The advantage of Vietnam is the relief of its territory. In most cases, mountains and jungles begin relatively close to the sea coast. Therefore, holidays on the beaches can be diversified with a 2-3-day trip to nature reserves to see the real jungle, wild and domestic elephants, and other animals. However, as a result of various human activities, wild animals are becoming less and less. At the same time, another trend is taking place - the construction of places for keeping wild animals in places of recreation for tourists.

Transport accessibility of most beaches, including the little developed ones, is good. This is facilitated by the fact that the main road and Railway run along the coast.

Vietnam is a country that is gaining popularity in the field of beach tourism. The coast here is amazingly beautiful. Travel agencies offer many great places to stay. But before the holidays, many begin to worry about the question, where is the best place to go in this country? There are places worthy of attention both in the north and in the south, so the choice is quite wide.

    Northern beaches of Vietnam

The coast of the northern region is not very popular with guidebook writers, but you can find interesting places perfect for a beach holiday. The difference between the north and the south and the central region is that local residents prefer to relax here. For example, Bai Chai Beach, the northern beach near the capital. If you come to see Vietnam, you are interested in white sand beaches in the same way as the cities of the country. So, going to Bai Chai Beach, you can successfully combine a relaxed holiday on the beach with excursions to the sights of Hanoi. In addition, Halong Bay deserves attention. The rocky islands surrounding the bay allow for picturesque boat trips, and small beaches are good for sunbathing and swimming a little, and for watching an amazingly beautiful sunset.

    Central beaches of Vietnam

In this part of the country, it is worth visiting China Beach, located between Da Nang and Hoi An. If you go on vacation between May and October, you will definitely like this beach. Clean will please any tourist, and surfers will love the waves. Despite its notoriety - this is where the Americans first landed during the war - China Beach is an excellent resort with first-class service. Not far from Hoi An there is another wonderful beach - Lang Co. This place is included in the top thirty beaches in the world. The reasons for such a high rating are simple: soft and clean sand, clear sea water, picturesque green mountains and lush tropical vegetation around. It was here that the kings of the Nguyen dynasty built their residences, and this says a lot. Finally, the place with the best sunsets in Asia. The resorts here are suitable for wallets of all sizes, so the glory of the new Phuket is prophesied to this island.

    Southern beaches of Vietnam

It is best to go to the south of the country from December to May. During the summer and autumn months, the rainy season is associated with constant typhoons and downpours. When exploring the beaches of Vietnam for a relaxing vacation, try Vung Tau. This is one of the most popular local resorts, located near Ho Chi Minh City. No less famous is Nha Trang. This place combines the natural beauty and amenities of a small town located here. In addition, thirty kilometers away is the picturesque Doc Let Beach - a secluded beach where you can go in order to take a break from the crowds. Here, in Nha Trang, an ideal place for diving. There are specialized equipment stores in the city. There is an opportunity to choose an instructor of different qualifications.

Vietnam is considered one of the favorite places for beach holidays by Russians lately. It is not yet as crammed with tourists' money as it is. Therefore, the prices here are still pleasantly pleasing. The Russians are treated very well. Once the USSR helped Vietnam in exchange for a promise to follow the bright path of socialism. We turned off the path, but Vietnam, rather due to its religious beliefs, remained a very kind, unspoiled and safe country for tourists.

The only thing that can scare you in Vietnam is rain and pickpockets. The northern part of the country is exposed to the former regularly and intensively. In this regard, most tourists travel to the south, to beautiful sandy beaches, an abundance of sun, fruits and positive emotions. And here they are already in wait for the second. You need to be very careful in crowded places - markets, beaches, tourist sites. Do not show that you have large sums of money and expensive gadgets. It is not accepted here. Carry the bag over your shoulder, it's more secure. Still, compared to other countries in the region, Vietnam has a very low crime rate.

More than half of Vietnam's borders are sea coasts. Accordingly, there are a lot of beaches here. In the north, in the area of Haiphong and Halong Bay, there are good beaches, but the warm season here coincides with the period of heavy precipitation. Therefore, the beaches of the north are not popular with vacationers.

"Good ones" beach places begin south of the central part of Vietnam. These areas are not so affected by the monsoons. The climate is more tropical. There are three ancient towns - Hue, Da Nang and Hoi An. They have good beaches for diving.

    • hue

The last emperors of Vietnam lived here. It is located between the sea and the mountains, there is magnificent nature, wide beaches of white sand. Lang Co beach is used by divers to dive to the coral reef.

    • Da Nang - a major city - the port of the country

There are many attractions, such as marble mountains. China Beach is famous throughout Vietnam for its soft sand. Surfing championships are held here, so we can say that the waves on the beach are rather big. In addition to China Beach, there are several other beaches that deserve attention.

    • Hoi An - this place is over 2000 years old

There are two beaches here - the popular Cua Dai and the recently opened An Bang by tourists. Both with clean, soft sand and well-developed infrastructure.

The next popular beach region is located in. This is the most "untwisted" among tourists region of Vietnam. There is everything that the soul desires here. And entertainment, and shopping, and the most snow-white beaches of Vietnam. Directly opposite the resort there are several islands, which are also chosen by tourists. Hotels have been built there, infrastructure is being established. If you are looking for peace and solitude, then you are not in Nha Trang. The beaches here are packed with tourists in the "high season" no worse than in Anapa. Therefore, choose places away from the center or come when "boom" will already fall.

This place is one of the safest in Vietnam, there are no storms and long tropical downpours. The sun appears in the sky almost every day. The average sea temperature is +26. Here are ideal beaches for families with children, for diving and water activities. For those who like waves and wind, it is better to choose Phan Thiet.

Speaking of diving. In Vietnam, it is the cheapest. There are a large number of diving clubs in Nha Trang and Van Phong bays. There are shallow depths, up to about 30 meters, but there are living coral reefs, caves, and various algae.

    • Phan Thiet and Mui Ne are one coast, with a conditional division into villages

Phan Thiet is considered a family resort; European couples with children or on a romantic trip come here. Here you can stay in a bungalow near the sea and enjoy the sound of the surf. The white sand dunes make this place unique. The best time to visit here is at sunrise or sunset. This is an unforgettable sight. The fishing harbor will please you with pretty Vietnamese boats.

Chosen by Russian tourists. It's almost here "ghetto". Russian restaurants, local Vietnamese have learned many Russian words, prices are not high in Vietnamese. There are many hotels of well-known chains in Russia. It has a pleasant climate, but very often winds blow, which surfers and kiters adore. Families with children on the beach will be uncomfortable. If you are not fond of the above sports, then choose a specific time and place to relax here.

    • Vung Tau is "Vietnamese Riviera"

Golf courses, villas, French names, cozy shops, luxury hotels. The beaches here are varied. There is even a small rocky beach with the cute name of Rocher Noir. In addition to the beaches, there are many more interesting things here - huge Buddhist and Chinese temples, a royal residence, underground tunnels, a beautiful lighthouse.

    • Phu Quoc is the most tropical island in Vietnam

It is located on the territory national park in the Gulf of Thailand. Its proximity to makes its climate similar to them. The center of the island is occupied by a real jungle, and the beaches can be called the best white sand beaches in Vietnam. Those who come here will find peace and tranquility from the bustle of the city. So far, they are not violated, neither by the presence of an international airport, nor by hotels, nor by shops, nor even by a casino.

Fukuoka has the perfect beaches for a relaxing holiday. It will appeal to romantic couples, families with children, and the elderly. Fans of wild nights spent on the dance floor or in the bar have nothing to do here. Fans of active shopping are better to choose the resort of Nha Trang or Ho Chi Minh City.

If you get tired of carefree idleness, then jungle tours, kayaking around the islands, scuba diving or excellent Thai massage are at your service.

    How to get there?

Planes fly from Russia to Vietnam mainly to two airports - Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. From the latter, it is more convenient to get to all the main beach places in Vietnam. In this southern country more than a dozen airports, some of them have flights from Moscow. You can also find a flight from Russia and fly there, but only with transfers, again, in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. If you love land travel, then it will be much more interesting to get to the right place by public or rented transport. Yes, it is cheaper when compared with the cost of domestic air travel.

We have collected in the review all the most popular places in Vietnam. If you find something else interesting that we missed, you can write about it in the reviews.

    Happy travels!

Vietnam has been breathing down Thailand's neck for a long time. Even fierce Thai lovers are increasingly choosing Vietnamese resorts. In Vietnam, it is cheaper, and the climate is the same, and there is a sea! But here's how to find the best Vietnamese resorts and beaches and not miscalculate?

Vietnam boasts a 3,400 km long coastline. The endless expanse of the sea, sandy beaches, hidden bays, magnificent lagoons and tropical islands attract those who are thirsty for a beach holiday by the warm sea. Let's look at the best beaches in Vietnam and maybe choose the best of the best Vietnamese resort. Although it will not be easy, I will say right away.

The climate on the popular beaches of Vietnam

But first of all, before planning a trip, falling in love with a colorful photo, you need to find out what season will be at that time in the resort you like. Otherwise, the picture in reality may be far from what you saw on the Internet or in a magazine. Dirty, muddy water huge waves and daily rain is not uncommon in Vietnam during the rainy season.

Most of the popular beaches in Vietnam are located in the southern part of the country. There good season when the sky is clear, the sun is hot, there are no clouds and rains from October to February. The rainy season lasts from June to October. It brings regular rains and even typhoons.

But there are wonderful seaside resorts in the north, not far from Hanoi. The best time to visit the Vietnamese northern beaches is from May to August.

To almost any popular southern seaside resort in Vietnam can be easily reached from Ho Chi Minh City. Vung Tau, Phan Thiet, and Mui Ne are all within a few hours drive or bus ride from Ho Chi Minh City.

Vung Tau also has water comets on the Mekong several times a day. The journey takes just over an hour. but the sea there is an amateur - muddy and restless. But all hotels and cafes are cheap, cheap!

And planes from Ho Chi Minh City fly to Phu Quoc Island almost every hour. Therefore, if you are planning to relax in the winter in the south of Vietnam, look for flights to Ho Chi Minh City.

I suggest looking here. You won't find cheaper.

So, a description and photos of the beaches and resorts of Vietnam.

    Phan Thiet

Phan Thiet has long been a fishing village famous for making the famous fish sauce. Now in the city about 75 thousand people live regularly. In the season, there are much more people due to those who come to rest.

Phan Thiet is today a picturesque fishing town. In the sea you can see every day hundreds of colorful fishing boats sailing nearby. The nearest beach is central, right in the city. And then there are remote beaches, which are located a few kilometers east of the city.

About 20 kilometers from Phan Thiet is located. Therefore, tourists often confuse these two names. In fact, there is no big difference, because the climate and the sea are the same in Phan Thiet and in Mui Ne, and the distance between them is symbolic.

Mui Ne is home to the most popular kite and surf schools in Vietnam. Plus, there are a few more attractions - sand dunes, palm trees, seafood restaurants. But the main thing for which they go to Mui Ne is kiting and windsurfing schools, of which there are a great many in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet, both with foreign instructors and with Russians.

My opinion is both marine and beach resort Mui Ne is so-so, for an amateur.

    Vung Tau

Vung Tau is one of the most popular resorts in Vietnam among locals. It is usually very crowded from December to May. To be honest, the beaches of Vung Tau do not compare with other beaches in Vietnam, they are dirtier and not as picturesque. But proximity to Ho Chi Minh City makes Vung Tau the most popular destination of the season.

Most vacationers there are Vietnamese, but there are also foreign tourists. In addition, there are Russian expats in Vung Tau who work at the oil refineries of this city.

Nha Trang is the most popular Vietnamese resort

Nha Trang is called the Vietnamese Riviera. Although, to be honest, in the last few years, the Riviera has become quite polluted. Often the water in the sea is muddy, and a lot of garbage is thrown ashore by the waves, especially in windy weather.

But when the sea is calm and the sky is blue, the sea water is azure and transparent. And you understand that if you look for best resorts Vietnam, you should go straight to Nha Trang.

That's when it's time to take a boat trip. Boat trips are perhaps the most popular tourist activity in Nha Trang. Most Nha Trang travel agencies offer day tours that include scenic views, swimming in the sea directly from the yacht and lunch with homemade Vietnamese dishes, plus soft drinks and cold beer.

Check out cheap flights to Nha Trang:

Phu Quoc is the most beautiful resort in Vietnam

Phu Quoc is a stunning island located off the coast of Kampot in Cambodia, also known as the "new Phuket". Although there are still much fewer people there than in Phuket. But in terms of beauty, it is perhaps not inferior to the famous Thai island. Although personally Phu Quoc reminded me more of another Thai island - Koh Chang.

Fukuoka has many wonderful beaches, both popular, with developed infrastructure, and uninhabited. There is always a choice. And no matter what you choose, clear water and soft clean sand will always be found on any Fukuoka beach. For more details with a photo and a description of how to get to each beach, read.
