• Yalta housing. Where to live in Yalta - asya_fly — LiveJournal

    16.03.2024

Let's give some advice to those who are planning to go to Yalta this year.

    1. The best time to travel to Yalta The end of June-July, as well as September, is considered. At this time, the weather is the most comfortable, prices for housing and entertainment are reasonable, the sea is warm, the stalls are bursting with an abundance of fruit, and the sun is not as sweltering as in August, which means you can visit the maximum number of Crimean attractions.

    2. If possible - don't plan a trip to August. August is the hottest month; people with blood pressure problems may generally experience health problems. In addition, August is the most expensive month - the peak tourist season and housing prices are soaring like never before. The most cheap housing in Yalta can be found in June and September. You will save a lot, and in terms of quality of rest you will only benefit. Another reason not to go to Yalta in August is the crowds of people. The city is simply overcrowded with people: traffic jams, crowds, crowded cafes and restaurants, difficulties finding housing - these are not all the problems.

    3. If you want to live closer to the sea, but you can’t afford a hotel in the first line - don’t despair! - a very compact city and almost any area here is located no more than a 40-minute walk to the beach.

In addition, if you live, for example, somewhat far from the city center, you can go down by minibus or taxi, or even on foot, to the beach in about the same time as from Kirov Street or the 10th microdistrict, despite the fact that visually located much further away. And here housing price in Massandra will be lower.

The advantage of Yalta is that you can walk almost everywhere, at least to the central parts of the city such as the embankment and all the beaches and parks. And back you can use the services of a taxi, trolleybus or minibus.

    4. Avoid public transport in Yalta, especially in summer. After all, minibuses and trolleybuses are crowded and stuffy, which is especially terrible in the summer. Instead of taking a minibus or taxi, ask the hotel reception or apartment owners how to get to the center on foot and, most likely, he will be happy to tell you all the trails and paths known only to local residents.

And if you arrived in Crimea by plane and want to have freedom of movement around the peninsula, we recommend. You can find the most offers for car rental in Crimea on the website. The car you ordered will be delivered directly to Simferopol airport.

    5. Don't try to drive everywhere by car. There is no need to try to get to the embankment in your personal car; leave it at home and walk. Yalta is a small city, with narrow streets that are not designed for a large number of cars. After all, no one tries to drive a personal car into Red Square in Moscow, and in Yalta, don’t be afraid to take a little walk - you’ll save your nerves and health.

    6. Take a walk. Explore the city. - a very interesting city with beautiful views, ancient narrow streets, unique architectural sites - don’t be afraid to get lost - just go wherever your eyes take you.

Chic surroundings, interior in the style of the early twentieth century, summer veranda, delicious food and the freshest seafood.

    Cafe Orange

address: embankment named after. Lenina, 35A

This cafe is one of the most popular attractions in Yalta, besides, it has amazingly delicious cuisine and an incredible view.

    Cafe Van Gogh

Italian cuisine, cozy interior and sea view.

    Terrace Shell-Midyayka

    address: Drazhinskogo, 31G (Massandra beach)

The freshest seafood, a beautiful refreshing interior and a wonderful view of the sea.

    Restaurant Grand Terrace (Villa Elena)

    address: st. Morskaya, 3A

Luxurious interior, large outdoor terrace, original menu, oyster farm - the advantages are countless.

Yalta is beautiful at any time of the year - come and relax!

Yalta is a unique city, which is protected from bad weather by the Crimean Mountains from the north and east, and washed by the waves of the Black Sea from the south. This city is famous for its healing climate, almost always wonderful weather, a lot of stunning natural and architectural attractions, aromatic wines, and a rich history. The advantages of Yalta cannot be counted. Usually, travelers returning from Yalta have something to tell and show - photographs from the Livadia Palace, souvenirs from Vorontsovsky, a sprig of lavender from Massandra, a bottle of wine from the Massandra winery, a pebble from Ai-Petri... But when you ask people what they saw in the very Yalta - they say: beach, embankment, maybe take a walk along the souvenir rows.

Yalta is a beautiful city with amazing nature, a healing climate, a beautiful embankment, a warm sea, and a lot of people know about it. All these people come on vacation, rent a hotel room and go to the beach. Therefore, there are often too many people on the Yalta beaches: music is playing, cafes and bars are crowded, children are laughing loudly and splashing along the shore, cheerful groups are riding on a banana... This is very popular among lovers of hectic beach life, but in such an environment it is difficult to relax for those who value tranquility and peace. Especially for you, we are talking about Yalta hotels with their own beaches, where you can retire and spend the perfect time by the sea...

When planning a budget for a vacation by the sea, the main expense item is, of course, housing, but how nice it is to reduce this item. In this article we will tell you about the best budget hotels and guest houses in sunny Yalta. Let's start with a little secret: when choosing the location of the hotel, keep in mind that Yalta is a very compact city, so even from the farthest point the path to the sea will not take more than 40 minutes...

Highest praise for this hotel. Despite the huge number of people, everything is very worthy. Free transfer, chic lobby ambience, clean bright rooms in which everything is thought out to the smallest detail for the convenience of people, magnificent territory with a zoo and water park. Just the inscriptions “towels for your blog-smelling body”, “towel for your feet” indicate that everything here is for clients. In three days...

We are vacationing in Yalta for the first time as a family. I really liked the hotel. Everything is provided here for both adults and children. Service 5, entertainment 5. We live in Green Park. Quiet, calm and most importantly comfortable. Don't believe those who write something negative.

A very good hotel for the money. We vacationed here with our family for the first time. Lots of nice things included. Nice rooms. Good food. A wonderful waiter at the Mramorny restaurant named Egor looks after the visitors very decorously and even arrestingly. We convey our respect to the hotel administration and for him. Thank you very much for a pleasant stay!

We rested in Yalta from 18.07 to 23.07. The hotel is 4 stars, but I would give it 3. This rating is for the staff and service! In all other respects, of course, it’s good here. The hotel area is simply magical, the zoo is some kind of fantasy. The pools are clean, different, for everyone's taste. The food is tolerable, there is everything: chicken, fish and meat. Lots of vegetables. But at the reception they solve absolutely nothing!!! This is a huge minus!...

Excellent infrastructure, two parking lots: the upper one, closer to the entrance, 200 rubles per hour, the lower one, before reaching the entrance, 100 rubles per hour. We were guests for 1 day, 3000 rubles per person, without room rental. You can relax everywhere, 4 restaurants, 3 on the ground floor, 1 restaurant and a hookah bar on the 16th floor. The coffee everywhere is the same Nescafe brand. This is weird. You can take a walk around the hotel on the vast territory, go to the water park, zoo...

We vacationed in October 2018. At first we lived in the main building for several days. I didn't really like it. The month of October is not the season, but there are a lot of people, noisy, crowds of people in the dining room for breakfast/dinner. Not our type of holiday. We paid extra and moved to Green Park. It turned out to be a completely different matter. New low-rise buildings, clean rooms, breakfast in a restaurant overlooking the sea and Ai-Petri. Quiet peaceful place. IN...

The overall impressions are good, but a couple of things spoiled the impression: the superior room was not that much improved compared to the standard one, perhaps due to the high floor there was no hot water in the room, only a little lukewarm, about like in a swimming pool, and the new carpet smelled strongly. Otherwise, we were very pleased - the staff is friendly and the infrastructure is good

Great place for a family vacation. Swimming pools with sea water, pools with slides for children and adults. Beautiful territory, a zoo with monkeys, birds, wild cats! Blue flag beach. We took full board, the food was good, we just needed to diversify the supply of fruits and meat. The rooms are clean. Animation at "4". But we didn’t need it. We'll be back again!

A wonderful place for a family holiday. All types of entertainment, excellent food in the hotel restaurants, a wonderful cultural program, a zoo, animation, polite, caring and helpful staff. The only advice is to add Crimean flavor and zest, diversify the menu of cafes on the main alley and pay attention to the fact that they have wonderful Crimean beer!

Not bad. But it's expensive. Especially restaurants, of which they say there are 25 of them. I wanted to take a pack of juice - 480₽. And not one ordinary stall or mini market on the territory. Apparently, so as not to reduce the price of restaurants. But it’s not bad at all, compared with Gamma in Olginka. Where for the same price is the BOMZHATNIK, which has nothing at all, compared to Yalta-Intourist. Everything is relative. There is a good zoo on the territory...

The hotel is of a very good level, good service, delicious food. Breakfast out of season is very decent, there is a choice. The staff is helpful in everything. My husband and I were there and we liked it.

everything is well equipped, clean, there is a place for children, trampolines, the cafe has good service, everything is provided, clean sunbeds

Excellent hotel. Many thanks to the staff for the comfort, coziness and friendliness.

The location is good, the beach is good, breakfast (buffet) is great, lunch was not taken, dinner is disgusting), room service is great, staff 5+

The hotel is located in a beautiful park, the rooms and the hotel itself are very clean, the breakfasts are excellent, the service is a little lame, but they try, the girls at the reception are very polite and attentive. It was out of season, there were few people and children (in the season I think there would be a lot, because when we left school ended and there were more people), one minus, but for me personally, there is no swimming pool on the territory, someone will say...

We chose this hotel to relax with a child on long holidays due to the presence of a children's room. WELL, SURPRISE, THE TEACHER IS SICK. And the administration cannot quickly resolve the issue of replacement. It's a pity! Rest spoiled.

We slept to the sound of the surf. Nice rooms and staff. Everything matches the photo. But in winter it’s cold in the room, in summer it will be great.

Wonderful hotel! The rooms are small but comfortable, breakfast is very good. You can run to the sea right from your room - across the beach! The view from the window in the morning is beautiful!

Excellent first line hotel, the sea outside the window, perfect cleanliness, helpful staff. We will give 5++

A great place to relax with children. There is a beach area, a play area covered with carpet, it is quiet and peaceful. You can drink tea outside. The hotel is a little expensive, but good friendly staff and location, nice cozy restaurant by the sea in the open air. There is an inexpensive children's menu. The location, organization of space and staff are a huge advantage of this place.

Great resort! Polite staff, very tasty food and a large selection. Green area, swimming pool. Entertainment for children and adults. Competent doctors. This is the fourth year we have been coming to boxing training camps and we are always very pleased. Thank you for the warm welcome!

Accommodation depends on the room, the view from the main building from the upper floors to the sea and mountains is very beautiful, the staff tries to please, but not always efficiently, there is laundry, but you have to negotiate it yourself, buffet food - you won’t go hungry, minimal treatment, mineral water and that one for money. From Yalta embankment 10 minutes along slides and stairs. The local market is so-so. Excursions are expensive...

A good place for a family holiday within the city of Yalta. Convenient location to see all the sights, many on foot - such as the Theatre. Chekhov and Belaya Dacha Chekhov, Embankment, small cable car, etc. Of course, it’s also a walk to the sea, about 15-20 minutes. You can also take the bus to the sanatorium, but it’s hot and there are a lot of people during the season. A huge territory, an ancient park with an estate built...

A sanatorium in the style between the USSR and modernity. Some rooms are well equipped. The presence of a tennis court and a swimming pool can be considered as an advantage of this sanatorium. As for the food: excellent food and a large selection. The choice of treatment services is wide, but you will not always be able to make an appointment at a time convenient for you.

The hotel is from Soviet times, but renovation work is slowly underway. We lived in a comfort room, the description of the room on the website corresponds to reality. The situation is so-so, but you can live. The refrigerator is terribly noisy. Not enough sockets. There is no sound insulation. A huge territory, a lot of vegetation, peace and tranquility. Great place for a walk. They feed with dignity. Buffet, plenty to choose from...

I like everything!!! Accommodation, food, treatment. There are a minimum of free procedures and a wide selection of paid ones. The staff is responsive and simple. It's just great to relax with a child. It’s a pity that the pool is still cold, but it’s pleasing to the eye and inviting. The room is simple, but clean and comfortable. Even in a budget version.

The price ratio for accommodation, food and treatment is the best!!! The air and climate are simply excellent! Decent doctors and medical workers. Be attentive to additional paid procedures and entertainment provided by non-sanatorium employees. Pay for them only after the service and entertainment has been provided, and not in advance. Great place to relax with children! Close to the center and 20 minutes to the beach

Radon clinic at the highest level. The food is wonderful, buffet style. Wonderful area. The rooms are clean, comfortable, but there is room for improvement. Excellent combination of price and quality.

Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. The regular rooms leave much to be desired.

Beautiful place. Excellent service staff, attentive, sensitive, friendly, from the reception to the sanatorium security. For those coming for the first time, I advise you to stay in building number 4 with a view of the sea. The room offers an amazing view of cypress trees, Crimean pines and the SEA.

To the seashore 40 m, ~1 min. on foot

Nice swimming pool on the roof of the hotel. Prices, of course, are not affordable, as in all of Livadia. The staff is reserved. The rooms are decent. Beautiful view of Yalta. The beach is good: pebbles with clear sea. Cafe prices are 2 times more expensive than in Simferopol. Sun loungers are paid, although previously, when checking into Livadia, sun loungers were included in the price.

The deluxe room with a terrace and a gorgeous view of the sea and Yalta fully met our expectations. Suites have private parking. The room is spacious, 2 rooms with 2 bathrooms. Friendly staff. There is animation. The central building has a luxurious pool and a rooftop pool plus a spa.

There is no direct access to the sea from the hotel. You need to go one way or the other to the general entrance from the city. My husband suffered a stroke and therefore the road to the sea turned out to be difficult for us. Otherwise everything is great! Beautiful hotel, delicious breakfasts, large rooms, swimming pools, excellent hotel staff. ?

Beautiful sea in May, nature, location, panoramas with excellent views from the windows and balconies. Generally friendly staff. A normal morning breakfast (buffet) is a solid 4! Lunch and dinner are well prepared, home-style. With a restaurant it’s a little more complicated... The cook is overly keen on Chinese-Japanese sauces indiscriminately, as a result, no matter what you order, you end up in a sushi bar. I would like to...

I vacationed with my family in April, me, my wife and a 9-month-old child, everyone was delighted, the staff was very friendly and well-mannered, the breakfasts were very varied, suitable for both adults and infants, I liked the seawater pool, jacuzzi, 4 types of baths and free herbal tea. There is also a luxurious gym, it just has everything. The view from the room is mesmerizing, at night you can hear the sea, which lulls you to sleep...

Great baths. Nice indoor pool with sea water, just a bit too much chlorine... There are a lot of people even in the off-season. Many athletes come from Yalta to swim. Breakfast - buffet: vegetables, cereals, sausages, eggs, omelet, buns, milk, cereal, muesli, coffee, tea, etc. Quite tasty... You can have breakfast on the balcony of the restaurant, but you need to be careful - can seagulls carry away your food?

Spacious rooms, very friendly staff, 3 meals a day and reasonable prices. A 50-meter indoor pool overlooking the sea, and 2 outdoor ones on the territory (one of them on the roof of the 9th floor), a spa center and a good gym. 15 minutes to the center of Yalta on foot. The downside is the pebble beach, the bottom of the sea is overgrown with greenery and the hotel area is not very large.

I really liked the hotel. I visited at the end of March and it was very comfortable, warm, few people and clean. The rooms are spacious and have their own kitchen, lived on the first floor overlooking the sea. The gym is large and good - I recommend it. Excellent 50 meter salt water pool. Delicious breakfasts and a good cook. They took a deposit for the room of 3000 rubles. in cash against receipt, and all additional services are paid by bank card, so...

I really liked the rooms - spacious, bright, nice balconies. Large swimming pool. During the rest, the “Roman bath” was open only once. The receptionist does not cope with his duties, everything takes a long time. When there is an influx of visitors (weekends, arrivals and departures), they lose consciousness and speech. There is no control on the part of the management, they do not increase the number of employees to relieve their workers and what...

The hotel is quite good. Prices, of course, are steep, especially at a local restaurant (the bite marks do not go away for three days). Also, every day at 8:00 you can take part in the battle for breakfast and capture your territory, otherwise, being late, you will have to capitulate - there will be nothing left for you. The cinema here is unusual - the wind here creates a 3D image. The battle for beach spots can be more epic than breakfast. But you...

Wonderful place and even better service.

Of course, your place stinks. But even though you have a direct view of the sea, the price needs to be reduced a little, since the living conditions are like in a hospital!

Inexpensive, good hotel, almost by the water, in the center of all the events of the Yalta embankment. Spacious room, air conditioning, shower. Everything you need for your holiday is included.

Average temperature in the city by month:

Yalta through the eyes of a resident. About climate, ecology, areas, real estate prices and work in the city. Pros and cons of living in Yalta. Reviews from residents and those who moved to the city.

General information and brief history of Yalta

Yalta, or as it is also called “Russian Riviera,” is a resort capital in the southern part of Crimea. But the administrative center, called Greater Yalta, includes: Alupka, Foros, etc. The length of Greater Yalta is 72 km, and the territory is 900 hectares, half of which is built up, and the rest is planted with trees and exotic shrubs.

The vast territory of the modern city has been inhabited since ancient times, but intensive development began in the 9th-6th centuries BC. Yalta was first mentioned in writings, then it was called Jalita, in the 12th century. The famous Arab traveler Adu Abdallah Muhammad al-Idrisi mentioned it in his writings.

This city has seen many conquerors; it was in the possession of the Golden Horde, Genoa, the Ottoman Empire, the USSR, and Ukraine. Today it is part of the Russian Federation. Only in 1838, along with the formation of the district, Yalta received city status. And after 5 years, a development plan was agreed upon and the coat of arms was approved.

The rapid development of the city began with the construction of a port and highways with Simferopol and Sevastopol. From the beginning of the 60s of the 19th century, Yalta and its surroundings began to develop as resorts. At the same time, the imperial family acquired the Livadia estate here, subsequently the favorite vacation spot of all the Romanovs. Thus, Yalta became a fashionable aristocratic resort.

The turning point and impetus for the rapid development of the resort area was the decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR “On the use of Crimea for the treatment of workers.” At the same time, sanatoriums, the Artek children's camp, etc. were opened. Pioneers, proletariat and cultural figures come to Yalta from all over the USSR.

    Climate and ecology of Yalta

The climate in Yalta resembles a subtropical Mediterranean, acclimatization is very quick and easy.

Winters here are very warm for Russia, mild (average temperature +4-5°C). It's cool in spring, very hot in summer. But autumn in Yalta is warm and long. The sun shines about 2300 hours a year. By the way, Nice, Cannes and San Remo have the same indicators.

Not the least role is played here by the combination of the ice-free sea with the Crimean Mountains, which reliably protect the city and its surroundings from cold winds in winter, dry heat and winds of the Tauride steppes in summer. From the south, the city is completely washed by the sea.

The swimming season in Yalta is very long, it opens at the end of May and lasts 149 days, until mid-October. The average water temperature is around 20°C.

But from an environmental point of view, the situation in Yalta is quite tense. The city has a heavy traffic load, and therefore the concentration of carbon monoxide exceeds the norm by 5-7 times. This is a clear sign of low quality fuel used. And the average concentration of benzopyrene is almost 2 times higher than the norm.

Sewage treatment plants and the water supply network are in extremely dilapidated condition, which contributes to the pollution of water adjacent to popular beaches. There are also problems with garbage collection; concerned citizens often organize cleanup days and clean their city themselves. This situation allows Yalta to be included in the list of cities with an unfavorable environmental situation.

    Population

In terms of population, Yalta ranks honorably third among all cities on the peninsula. About 90 thousand people permanently live in Yalta itself. Moreover, every holiday season this figure increases by 300,000 - 500,000 people due to city guests and tourists.

As for the gender and age group of the population, 45% are men, and 55% are representatives of the fair sex. It is noteworthy that in recent years the percentage of the population that is younger and older than working age has increased sharply. But the percentage of the working-age population is constantly decreasing.

If we talk about the demographic situation as a whole, it has almost the lowest indicators in Crimea. The average birth rate is 9.3 per 1000 people. The mortality rate exceeds these indicators by 2 times.

Recently, the percentage of marriages has increased and divorce cases have decreased. It is interesting that Yalta residents get divorced least of all in the cities of Crimea.

If we talk about the education of city residents, there is no clear answer. There are not many higher educational institutions in the city, in particular only three: the Crimean Humanitarian University, the Institute of Economics and Management, and the European University. Mostly a variety of colleges and schools predominate. In general, education and its accessibility are at an average level.

The people here are friendly, friendly, accustomed to numerous tourists. They will tell you how to get there and how to get there. True, the traders at the markets are a little rude.

Districts and real estate of Yalta

Conventionally, Yalta is divided into 3 main areas: the old city, where Yalta began, the new city and Chekhovo. The city also includes the town. Nikita and Livadia.

    Old city

Or, Old Yalta, as this area is also called, originates from the street. Boulevard and stretches up to the east. This area is notable for its large concentration of various buildings from past centuries. Precisely the past, because since the end of the 20th century, practically nothing has been built in old Yalta, since there is no room for it. This area is characterized by narrow winding streets and a large number of houses built close to each other.

Old Yalta is an administrative district; the mayor's office, police, hospitals, city administrative bodies, etc. are located here. The buildings are dominated by 2- and 3-story houses from the times of Imperial Russia in the classicism and baroque style, with their characteristic stucco molding and luxurious decoration. Of course, many of these houses have been restored, but the outskirts of the area are dominated by shabby, graffiti-covered shacks, which cannot be called anything else.

Most of the premises in the houses in this area are rented for shops, offices, banks, restaurants and other organizations providing all kinds of services, and the area itself is perfect for young, motivated people, but not for families with small children.

If during the day diligence and efficiency reign in old Yalta, then at night the area turns into an entertainment center with countless restaurants, concert venues, clubs and summer cafes. This area also includes, perhaps, the most favorite vacation spot for both local residents and visiting guests - the Yalta Embankment. In any weather, at any time of the day, it is always crowded here.

It is impossible not to note the greenery of this area. A variety of tropical plants, trees and shrubs are abundant here. Without a doubt, the central part of the old town is very well landscaped. On the outskirts, you need to get used to pictures that are strange for a tourist center. For example, to shabby, half-shabby buildings or to laundry hung right on the street.

If we talk about the provision of kindergartens and schools, then there are small problems with this. But the number and variety of sites, on the contrary, has good indicators.

The average cost of an apartment near the Embankment is $120,000 – $150,000.

New Town is a fashionable residential area in the north-west of the city, consisting of several microdistricts with serial numbers.

New Yalta is distinguished by its intricate buildings and modern, fully equipped residential complexes.

Multi-storey buildings, numerous hotels, a large number of landscaped courtyards and playgrounds. The area is picturesque and well landscaped.

There are many shops, supermarkets, pharmacies and organizations providing various services to the population. Everything is within walking distance. Quiet, calm and measured environment. The average cost for a one-bedroom apartment in this area is $60,000 – $70,000.

An abolished village included within the city limits. It is located in the west of the city in the area of the house-museum of A.P. Chekhov, hence the name. Luxurious cottages, painted villas and houses predominate.

The area is completely landscaped, there are shops and pharmacies. Cons: the nearest hospital is quite far away, there are no large shopping centers.

Nikita is an urban village 7 km from Yalta. Here is the famous Nikitinsky Botanical Garden and many other parks and squares.

Predominantly a cottage village, it has recently been gaining the status of a tourist center in Yalta for family holidays.

It has the cleanest sea. True, the bulk of residential buildings are located at a considerable distance from it. There are many hotels and guest houses here.

A quiet, peaceful place, ideal for living with family and children. Cons: the sea is far away, there are not enough clothing stores and pharmacies. The average cost of a private home hovers around $1,000,000.

On the other side of Yalta is the village of Livadia with the imperial estate. "Livadia Palace" - the residence of the Romanov family - is the main attraction of this place. It has its own school, kindergarten, and boarding school. Many hotels, shops, restaurants and bars. Recently, the development of this village with multi-storey residential complexes has been actively carried out.

The village is fully equipped with children's playgrounds, including new ones.

Cons: no large supermarkets or shopping centers, insufficiently equipped hospital.

Buses and minibuses constantly run between the village and Yalta. The average cost of a one-room apartment in a new building is $80,000-$100,000, and prices for private homes range from $500,000 to $5,000,000.

    Infrastructure condition

The housing and communal complex of Yalta is developed quite well. There are many private organizations in the city that service homes. Despite the competition, we won’t have to wait long for price increases for housing and communal services tariffs. The amounts in receipts are growing, but practically nothing is being done for the benefit of homes and yards.

Homes are constantly covered in graffiti by street hooligans, but no one is in a hurry to erase this modern painting. The entrances are cleaned well, as is the area around the house. But this is not done as often as the situation requires.

Fortunately, with the arrangement and maintenance of highways and roads in Yalta, everything is more or less tolerable. At least you can’t say that the roads in the yards are bad or look like a sieve of bumps and potholes. All potholes are filled promptly and promptly, and the road surface is leveled.

If we talk about traffic jams and congestion on the roads, then if they happen here, then in the summer - at the peak of tourist activity.

As for the transport infrastructure of Yalta, it fully serves the needs of the resort. The main land arteries are the highways: Simferopol - Alushta - Yalta and Sevastopol - Yalta - Feodosia. The city has a seaport, which has several directions: passenger, trade and cargo.

The main types of urban transport are buses and minibuses. The variety and remoteness of routes, as well as a large number of buses on the line, satisfy all the needs of citizens and guests of the city. Not long ago, the city’s fleet was replenished with new buses from post-Olympic Sochi with the symbols of the 2014 Olympics.

Despite the developed transport infrastructure, there are a lot of private taxi organizations operating in the city, which are also in demand among the population. The average price for one km of travel is just under half a dollar.

If we talk about the problems of the city, the most important of them can be called drinking water, or rather its shortage. Drinking water came to the city from the Ukrainian Dnieper through the North Crimean Canal. In light of recent events, this water simply disappeared. Until 2017, the city will live off reserve storage facilities and artesian sources. By 2017, it is planned to complete large-scale construction of a water pipeline, which will provide water to the entire Crimea, including Yalta.

Enterprises and work in the city

Yalta's industry revolves around 17 main enterprises. Basically, these are the light and food industries, the construction sector and the electric power industry.

The number of employed people in industry is 3.5 thousand people, which corresponds to 22.8% of those employed in the production sector and 5.8% of total employment in the economic complex.
Of course, the main industry is the food industry, whose enterprises employ more than 50% of all workers in the industry.

The main enterprises of the industry: The main factory of vintage wines "Massandra", the Yalta bakery, a meat plant, a beer and soft drink plant, OJSC "Yalta Fish Factory".

In the future, the food industry will remain the leading industry in Yalta.

The electric power industry is represented by such enterprises as Krymteplokommunenergo, Yaltakurortteploenergo and Heat Networks. The industry employs 33.5% of those employed in industry.

The construction materials industry in Yalta is represented by the production and technological equipment management of the Krymspetsgidroremstroy trust, the Yalta plant Stroydetal, etc. The number of employees in the industry is 11.2%.

More than 2,000 facilities of all forms of ownership provide services to the population and guests in Yalta, including:

    • More than 600 stores with an area of over 36 thousand m2
    • More than 500 catering establishments with 23.6 thousand seats
    • 150 kiosks, pavilions
    • 130 consumer service enterprises
    • 12 markets with 3000 trading places
    • 114 seasonal catering establishments with 4,500 seats
    • 530 off-site retail outlets

However, the bulk of the city’s working population works at resort enterprises year-round in all areas of economic activity. The number of people employed in economic sectors in 2013 fell by 5% and amounted to 55 thousand people. This indicates an outflow of labor resources to other areas of economic activity. For example, the number of entrepreneurs and individuals has increased.

This year, as in previous years, a typical reason for dismissal is low wages, delay in payment of up to 3 months, and inconsistency of the employee’s qualifications with the employer’s requirements. In the first half of 2013, compared to the same period in 2012, the number of registered unemployed decreased - 1.5 thousand people, which is 60% of the registered unemployed population.

Do not forget that Yalta has its own specifics as a resort and recreational complex that carries out seasonal activities, which affects the structure of the economy and the work of enterprises, organizations and institutions and other spheres of life of the population. The average number of full-time employees in all resort and tourism organizations is about 20 thousand people. Between May and September the number of employees increases to 25 thousand people. As a rule, this contingent consists of pupils, students, and retirees hired for temporary work who previously worked at these enterprises.

It is worth noting that the average salary in Yalta does not exceed $250.

    Crime

The criminal situation in Yalta has generally stabilized. Since the entire leadership and majority of the internal composition of law enforcement agencies changed in 2010, the percentage of crimes solved has begun to increase. If we talk about specific statistical figures, then in 2013 serious and especially serious offenses decreased by 5.5%.

In recent years, scammers have become more active in Yalta. They mainly trade through SMS messages or go to the apartments of old people, posing as employees of social services and banks.
Also, the percentage of crimes committed by teenagers and young people has recently increased.

It is worth noting that Yalta leads in the number of “land” crimes. This is understandable, because this is a resort. In the last 6 months alone, more than 200 illegal decisions of government authorities on the disposal of land plots have been canceled. And this is only what was verified during the prosecutor's audit. The real numbers are unlikely to ever emerge.

Among the most “loud” and resonant crimes committed in Yalta, several can be highlighted. This murder of a newborn on the Ai Petri plateau shocked all the residents of Yalta... And after 5 months, the residents of the city were stunned by law enforcement agencies, who proved that the child was killed by his own mother. And also dozens of murders committed by a criminal group of “black realtors” who operated in Yalta, forced apartments to be transferred to themselves, and then brutally killed their victims. Last year, all members of the gang were detained, the coordinator was sentenced to capital punishment in the form of life imprisonment

    Sights of Yalta

Of course, the very first place that every person who comes to Yalta should visit is the Central Embankment named after. Lenin.

It is framed by palm trees and an endless row of all kinds of cafes, bars, restaurants, attractions for children and adults. Here every gourmet will find a place to suit his taste: from hamburgers at McDonald's to a juicy steak with a glass of good red wine at Geneva. Fans of French cuisine will be delighted with “White Shark”. For those for whom visiting pretentious establishments is alien, numerous pizzerias and inexpensive cafes are always open.

Of course, having visited Chekhov’s favorite city, one cannot help but visit the house-museum of the famous Russian classic. While living on his estate in Yalta, A.P. Chekhov wrote his most famous works.

You cannot pass by the majestic Church of St. John Chrysostom.

One of the first stone buildings with unusual architecture is rightfully considered the main decoration of Yalta. This also includes the Armenian Church, Nevsky Cathedral on the street. Sadovaya and the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

In addition to architectural delights, Yalta has a lot of museums with interesting exhibitions. And in the secluded corners of numerous parks and squares hide various monuments to cultural and political figures.

3 km from Yalta is the famous residence of the last imperial Romanov family - Livadia Palace.

The Yalta Conference of the heads of state who won the Second World War took place here. Today, the palace has become a museum that is constantly open to visitors.

And on the territory of the Yalta sanatorium there is another palace, or rather the entire palace ensemble of the Emir of Bukhara.

The luxurious palace in the Moorish style is now occupied by the library of the sanatorium.

There are a huge number of attractions for children in Yalta, including an Aqua Park, the Skazka Zoo, and the Aquatoria Marine Animal Theater.

The hotel service in Yalta is simply amazing. There are hundreds of hotels, sanatoriums and inns of all ranks and stars. Among the main ones, the following stand out: “Bristol”, “Oreanda”, “Yalta-Intourist”, “Villa Elena”.

    Landmark, Religion, Landmark

Not far from the Embankment is the main Orthodox church of Yalta - the Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky. The construction of a grandiose religious building occurred at the turn of the 19th - 20th centuries. Empress Maria Feodorovna took part in the foundation of the temple, and its illumination took place already under Nicholas II. The cathedral itself was dedicated to the memory of Tsar-Liberator Alexander II, who was killed by Narodnaya Volya.

The architectural structure is reminiscent of the best Moscow churches of the 17th century. The two-tiered square temple and the high three-tiered bell tower are richly decorated with elements characteristic of Russian ornamentation: portals, pilasters, hearts and icon cases, and a hipped porch. The southern façade of the cathedral is decorated with a shrine with a mosaic icon of Alexander Nevsky, created by the Venetian artist Antonio Salviati. The color scheme of the facades - pink (peach) and white - gives special expressiveness. The cathedral is crowned with five gilded onion domes. The interior decoration of the temple is also admirable. Here you can see a gilded carved iconostasis, painted domes and walls in the Byzantine style, unique icons painted by Vladimir masters.

Currently, the cathedral is active; divine services are held there daily.

The neo-Gothic castle on the edge of a steep 40-meter cliff has become one of the most recognizable symbols of Crimea. The miniature palace, erected in 1912 on the site of its wooden predecessor, belonged to the German oil industrialist Baron P. Steingel, who loved to vacation in the Crimea. The design of the stone dacha was carried out by the capital's sculptor Leonid Sherwood, the son of the famous Russian architect Vladimir Sherwood.

Later, the building was converted into a restaurant, which delighted its visitors with magnificent panoramic views. And only in 2011, the historical and architectural monument became a cultural institution. The premises of the castle were transformed into exhibition halls, where changing exhibitions of various directions are now held - art, archaeological, local history. Traditionally, excursions are held here telling about the history of the castle and Cape Ai-Todor, on which it is located. During the summer, various cultural events are held on the territory of the Swallow's Nest - performances, concerts, vernissages, master classes.

The luxurious palace complex with a huge landscaped park is the main attraction of the nearest suburb of Yalta - Livadia, which attracted the attention of Russian Emperor Alexander II in the 1860s. It was from this time that the history of the residence began, where the families of the last three Russian tsars came annually to rest. It should be noted that the creation of the Livadia Palace stimulated the development of the city. Following the emperors, the aristocracy flocked to Crimea. Thus, by the end of the 19th century, Yalta had turned into a prestigious seaside resort.

The architectural structure that has survived to this day - the so-called White Palace - was built in 1911 on the site of the dilapidated Great Royal Palace, which had existed since 1861. The white stone building in the Italian Renaissance style is famous not only for its architecture. This is the last Romanov palace, as well as the place where the Yalta Conference of the three allied powers of the anti-Hitler coalition took place in February 1945 - the meeting of Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt.

Today the former imperial residence is open to the public. Palace interiors are recreated in twelve rooms of the building. The museum houses exhibitions dedicated to Russian history and the Romanov dynasty. Of particular interest is the picturesque Italian courtyard with preserved buildings from the period of the royal estate.

One of the highest waterfalls in Russia and the highest waterfall in Crimea - Uchan-Su - was formed on the river of the same name, on the southern slope of the Ai-Petrinsky massif. “Flying water” - this is how the name of this truly unique creation of nature is translated. A powerful stream falls from a steep limestone cliff from a height of 98.5 m. Below, two cascades are formed. On the ledge, in the middle of the descent, there is a catchment area. The small building is crowned with a sculptural image of an eagle.

The condition of the natural attraction depends on the weather. Wuchang-Su makes the greatest impression during the rains or when the snow melts on the yayla. During the summer season, the waterfall almost completely dries up.

    Landmark, Panorama View

One of the symbols of the Southern Coast of Crimea is Mount Ai-Petri, rising 1231 m above sea level. Its protruding figured teeth complete the magnificent natural amphitheater near the Black Sea. The mountain received its unusual silhouette as a result of long-term weathering of limestone rocks formed from sea reefs of the Upper Jurassic period. Ai-Petri looks like a fantastic castle with ruined towers and steep walls. It’s not just the appearance of the peak that is special. Ai-Petri is the windiest and most foggy place on the peninsula. The wind speed on the plateau can reach 50 m/s, and the number of foggy days per year is more than two hundred. Despite this, this unique creation of nature invariably attracts tourists from all over the world.

You can climb to the famous Ai-Petri battlements using a cable car that stretches almost 3000 meters from the Miskhor resort. The ascent lasts about 15 minutes. During this small but very exciting journey you can enjoy breathtaking views of Greater Yalta - from Foros to Gurzuf. An unforgettable experience will be provided by the ascent along the upper section of the cable car, the length of which is 1670 m, while the angle of ascent near the mountains is 46°. This is the longest unsupported span in Europe.

The Massandra production and agricultural association is one of the country's largest enterprises for growing grapes and producing high-quality vintage wines. It was founded by the famous Russian winemaker Prince Lev Golitsyn. It was he who founded the main plant of the modern plant in 1894, which became the first tunnel-type underground winery in Russia.

Today Massandra is a place open to guests from all over the world. Anyone can walk around the territory of the plant, visit the wine cellars, aging workshops for collection wines, and witness the process of creating an intoxicating drink. The Main (Tsarsky basement) of the Head Plant with its rich enoteca deserves special attention. Collection wines from the largest wine-producing countries - France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Portugal - are collected here. However, a significant place in the collection is occupied by Massandra products, representing all types of wines - from table and strong to dessert. In total, about one million bottles are stored in the Massandra cellars: there is no such collection anywhere else in the world.

The Museum of Winemaking is very interesting, a visit to which is included in the excursion programs of the Tasting Complex. The museum's collections introduce guests to the history of viticulture and winemaking from Antiquity to Modern times. Among the exhibits are vessels from different historical periods, old photographs, and numerous awards from the enterprise. Tasting will allow you to verify the high quality of Massandra wines and appreciate their unique taste and bouquet. The complex has three stylized tasting rooms (Greek, Madeira or Sherry), where visitors will be offered 9 samples of fine wines.

One of the most exotic attractions in Crimea is the Yalta Crocodillarium, which allows its visitors to get closer to the ancient inhabitants of our planet. Despite its young age (the crocodillarium appeared in Yalta in 2011), the institution has a very impressive collection, including various species of reptiles. Of course, a significant place in it is occupied by representatives of the order of crocodiles: Nile and Cuban crocodiles, caimans, African blunt-nosed crocodiles. In the Yalta Crocodillarium, semi-aquatic predators are not only kept, but also bred. Therefore, here you can see both large and very small crocodiles.

However, the “museum collection” is not limited to crocodiles. Vulture, snapping and snake-necked turtles, tiger pythons, Nile monitor lizards, iguanas and other rare species of reptiles make up the colorful and unique world of the Yalta Crocodillarium.
