12 years later, former military officer John Mair discovered a place where the two planes could have crashed into the sea. Despite what Mair found out, he was not believed until 1994, when oceanographer Graham Hawkes set out on his sailing ship, which was equipped with modern technology, to search for Flight 19 - where, according to Mair, it could be located.
