• What is the best resort in Montenegro. Where is the best place to relax in Montenegro?

    05.01.2024

More and more often I am asked questions:

I will share with you my observations that have developed over 5 years of living in Montenegro.

How to spend a holiday in Montenegro?

For me, Montenegro is not exactly a beach country. Yes, of course, you can swim here 4-6 months a year on the incredibly beautiful beaches. But the abundance of unique nature and attractions in such a small area makes this country a magical place for active tourists.

Perhaps the ideal vacation in Montenegro is to rent an apartment with a beautiful view somewhere in the Bay of Kotor, or another place that you like, rent a car (it’s better to do this in advance, for example), and travel everywhere, stopping in the most picturesque places and near any beaches. One highway passes through all the cities on the coast, the views from which are breathtaking at every turn.

An exclusively beach holiday here can be wonderful, in my opinion, only in a very good hotel with its own spacious beach.

What's the weather like in Montenegro?

To fully enjoy the beauty of nature, admire the ancient cities and breathe in the local air, I would advise you to come out of season, for example, in spring or autumn. Weddings and photo shoots in Montenegro are also best held at this time.

From the middle Martha It’s already quite warm, and although the weather at this time can be unpredictable, it is in the spring that Montenegro is buried in delicate greenery and flowering trees, April Wisteria, beloved by many, is blooming.

IN May Usually the summer heat begins, but the water is still quite cool.

At first June Montenegro is all in flowers - oleanders and hydrangeas are blooming everywhere, and the sea pleases with its warmth and purity. There are also thunderstorms in Montenegro in the summer; they are majestically beautiful and do not last long.

IN July And August I would not advise going to Montenegro, especially for families with small children. This time is suitable for you only if you like noise, loud music, night discos, heat, walking in crowds of vacationers, traffic jams, crowded beaches. This is also the period of the highest prices.

IN September The still warm sea, hot sun and summer evenings await you.

October, perhaps, my favorite month in Montenegro, a gentle velvet season, especially if you are lucky with the weather. By October, the sun sets much earlier, so evening swimming is unlikely to be comfortable; the sea is often warmer than the air.

IN November Golden autumn begins on the coast, warm and picturesque, but the evenings are already noticeably cooler. By the way, autumn sunsets are the most beautiful!

Winter in Montenegro it is a smooth transition from autumn to spring. The golden autumn continues throughout December, and although the nights can be cold (0... +10C), during the day the sun noticeably heats up to +15...+20C. But the rainy season, wind and storms can take you by surprise. On rainy days it is damp and cool (+7...+15C). It is on the coldest days that the bay is decorated with snowy mountain peaks.

Roses and wild daffodils bloom all winter. Until spring there are oranges, tangerines, and lemons everywhere. TO February mimosa and camellia bloom, which in Montenegro means the arrival of a new spring.

Which city to choose for a holiday in Montenegro?

Each city is beautiful in its own way and has its own characteristics.

For an exclusively beach holiday, I think it’s worth choosing cities and places near the open sea.

And if you are in the mood to travel and admire the beauty of Montenegro, I would advise you to opt for the cities or towns of the Bay of Kotor. I consider this part of Montenegro the most picturesque, and from the bay you can easily and quickly travel by car (it’s convenient to look at car rental prices) to other interesting places on the coast and to the north of the country.

Kotor beautiful and interesting, life is in full swing here almost all year round thanks to the constantly arriving ships with tourists. Lots of souvenirs, cafes and restaurants. The city beaches of Kotor leave much to be desired. But swimming in its surroundings is much more pleasant.

Perast, like a fairytale setting, a small town with one shop and restaurants along the sea. If you wish, you can even swim there, but it’s more difficult to do with kids.

IN Herceg Novi Although small, the old town is beautiful and special, and due to its location it is rarely crowded. But on the embankment (its length is about 7 km) life is always in full swing, even in winter there are many good cafes and restaurants for every taste. Herceg Novi is called a botanical garden and a city on steps, so if you are not a fan of physical activity or are vacationing with kids, it is better to choose places to relax near the sea. There are both concrete and pebble beaches along the entire embankment. Herceg Novi is located 20 minutes from Croatia.

Tivat interesting mainly due to Porto Montenegro, but for swimming this is not the most attractive beach, in my opinion.

Bar, Ulcinj, Petrovac- cities near the open sea, with which I am not familiar enough to draw my own conclusions regarding vacation. But if you plan to travel around Montenegro, from there you will have to travel longer to the cities of the Bay of Kotor.

Of the cities near the open sea, I am quite familiar, perhaps, only with Budva. It is a beautiful modern city with lots to do.

Budva is the “capital” of the coast, with its attendant advantages and disadvantages. I know that many people love it, but I wouldn’t want to spend my holidays there as a tourist. And here's the one next door Saint Stephen deserves the attention of those for whom this journey is something special.

    What places are worth visiting?

Everyone has their own list of favorite places in Montenegro. I’ll tell you what I can’t imagine traveling to Montenegro without.

If this is your first time in this country, take a ride along the road along the Bay of Kotor. To do this, you can rent a car (or a bicycle, if you are an experienced cyclist). Stop everywhere and take in the amazing views!

If you're hungry, stop at Perast. Take a walk along the beautiful promenade, where you will see restaurants right by the sea. And sail to the island of Gospa od Škrpela (Our Lady on the Reef), you will find people willing to take you there wherever you see boats.

Take another ride around the bay and visit Kotor. A walk through the Old Town is impressive. After lunch, stock up on water and climb the fortress. You will be treated to incredible views, but you shouldn’t do this in the heat and with kids.

If serpentines don't scare you, go to Lovcen, The Bay of Kotor will be in front of you at a glance.

Take a walk around Porto Montenegro(in Tivat), it is beautiful during the day, but its evening illumination is amazing. Try Moritz ice cream there, it leaves no one indifferent.

If you have the opportunity, visit a closed island Sveti Stefan. You can do this by renting a hotel room or booking a table in a restaurant on the island. But a walk in the park along the sea in front of the island and swimming with a view of Sveti Stefan will give you a lot of pleasure!

IN Herceg Novi The Old Town and the three fortresses are worth a visit; they offer beautiful views of the city and the entrance to the Bay of Kotor. The rest of the interesting places are not visible to tourists at first glance, and you will have to spend a lot of time to find them, but I will be happy to show them to you during the photo shoot)

If you love mountains or want to take a break from the sultry heat, go to& north of Montenegro– Piva Lakes, Durmitor National Park, Zabljak, Black Lake, Djurdzhevich Bridge, Kolasin. I would advise going overnight.

Most excursions to these places are one-day, but this is too tiring, considering that from the coast to the north it takes about 3 hours one way through the mountainous terrain. Here you will also need a rented car or an experienced guide with your own car if you want to admire the views and not follow the difficult road.

    Wedding in Montenegro

If you are dreaming of a small but special wedding, Montenegro will be the ideal place for it. Here you can organize a wedding for two or with guests, symbolic or official, under the whisper of the waves or with stunning views.

Almost all of the best wedding specialists in Montenegro speak the same language with you, so you can easily discuss all the details with any of them. I work only with those specialists whom I have trusted for many years, with whom we have the same views and tastes. You can find out more about weddings in Montenegro and get advice.

What time of year to choose for a wedding in Montenegro? If you are planning to combine a wedding with a honeymoon, then the most suitable periods will be from April to June and from September to November. At this time, all venues for holding a wedding ceremony are available to you, almost all beaches are free, and a wedding photo shoot will be a pleasant walk in the absence of heat and tourists.

    Photo session in Montenegro

Ancient city streets, tiled roofs, majestic mountains, beautiful sunsets by the sea - the scenery for your photo shoot has already been created. All that remains is to take care of your images and shooting concept. I and my professional team will be happy to do this with you. For each couple or family, we create only individual solutions - for us this is creativity and a favorite thing.

A wedding photo shoot in Montenegro, family, children's, personal, photo shoot for lovers or a love story - have their own characteristics, and for each of them I select the most suitable places in Montenegro, develop an individual route based on your wishes, the chosen shooting style, location, where you are staying, whether you are renting a car, the age of the children, etc.

And I think it’s best to tell what impressions the shooting process and its result leave

👁 Before we start...where to book a hotel? In the world, not only Booking exists (🙈 for a high percentage from hotels - we pay!). I've been using Rumguru for a long time
    skyscanner
👁 And finally, the main thing. How to go on a trip without any hassle? The answer is in the search form below! Buy now. This is the kind of thing that includes flights, accommodation, meals and a bunch of other goodies for good money 💰💰 Form - below!.

    Really the best hotel prices

Despite its small size, Montenegro amazes with its diversity. It has everything: a warm sea, clear lakes and mountain rivers, stunningly beautiful mountains, majestic historical monuments and monasteries.

Isn't it true that this Balkan country has a wonderful name? And the country itself is lovely. Balkan Switzerland, as Montenegro is often called because of the beauty of its nature, enchants with the blue waters of its lakes and mountain streams, as well as hills that cannot be described. In Montenegro you will find the best conditions for a therapeutic holiday.

Do you know where Montenegro is? Right. On the shores of the Adriatic Sea, which washes it from the southwest. Croatia borders Montenegro to the west, Kosovo to the east, Serbia to the northeast, Albania to the southeast, and Bosnia and Herzegovina to the northwest.

The state is distinguished by amazing diversity, so if you decide to relax here, you will never be upset or disappointed and will definitely find a place that you like.

    Igalo

Do you want to take care of your health? Then the doors of the center with a beautiful name are open for you “ Igalo" This is a very famous medical and tourist complex in Montenegro with the most modern equipment. It will take care of you and surround you with attention. You will receive help from highly qualified medical professionals. Treatment with mineral water and special sea mud is included in the physiotherapeutic procedures carried out at the center. The mineral water is called “Igalka”. A procedure in which the entire body is under the beneficial influence of cold mineral radon baths is considered especially beneficial for health. The immune system seems to be “invigorated”, the body begins to work like clockwork.

    Beach holidays in Montenegro

If the purpose of your visit to Montenegro is relaxation, swimming in the warm blue sea or a golden sandy beach where you can sunbathe, then there are three resort regions for you to choose from: Ultsinskaya, Budvanskaya or Hercegnovskaya Riviera. Each of these zones has its own attractive features. Four resorts are part of the Hercegnovskaya Riviera: the famous Kotor, Tivat and Herceg Novi.

    City of Kotor

The city of Kotor, founded in the era of Ancient Rome. Then it was called differently, Acrivius. Medieval Kotor was an independent city-state that was part of the Byzantine Empire and was very famous for its schools of masonry and iconography. During the Renaissance, it came under the rule of Venice. It continued until the very beginning of the nineteenth century. This was reflected in the unusual architecture of Kotor. The unique ancient spirit is preserved by many of its buildings. See the Cathedral of St. Tryphon (the protector and patron saint of Kotor) with preserved frescoes from the fourteenth century. This cathedral is one of such ancient buildings. It also contains a sacristy, richly decorated with stones. The stones, by the way, are precious. The unique historical appearance of Kotor is created by such buildings as the magnificent Napoleon Theater and ancient churches named after saints. One of them is in honor of St. Luke, and the other is St. Anne. And that’s not all the ancient buildings in the city.

    Resort Budva

The resort of Budva, which forms the Budva Riviera, deserves special attention. The town, considered the region's main seaside resort, has three churches, a museum and a central square surrounded by the restored ramparts of an old fortress.

If Kotor is famous for its historical buildings, then Budva– magnificent beaches. There are a great many of them in Montenegro, but sandy beaches are found only on the southern coast, namely in the Ulcinj and Budva rivieras. The sea coast of other regions of the country will delight you with pebble beaches, and the pebbles are river and small, similar to buckwheat. Northwest coast (resorts Tivat, Igalo, Herceg Novi) is an area of only artificial beaches, which are platforms made of concrete. All of them are located in bays. Thus, they are protected from wind and waves. All this makes them incredibly convenient for vacationers.

What else can you see in Montenegro? If you wish, you can visit the Ostrog monastery, which is associated with the name of Vasily Ostrog, protector and patron of Montenegro. Having visited this greatest Montenegrin shrine, which houses the relics of St. Basil of Ostrog, you will often remember this place. Pilgrims (Catholics, Orthodox, Muslims) walk all the way from the Lower to the Upper monastery.

    Ski resorts in Montenegro

The ski resort with the cheerful name Zabljak (the highest mountain resort in the Balkans) is the best place for those who like to ski downhill. It is located on the Dormitor mountain range. There is everything you need to fully engage in skiing. You will see here ski lifts, well-equipped ski slopes, as well as routes laid out for cross-country skiing competitions. Do you like freeride? All the possibilities for this are also present here. Another popular resort among tourists is Kolasin.

    Dormitor

On Dormitore There is simply an abundance of wild animals, so hunting for fox, wolf, wild boar and some other animals is allowed. In addition, you can do some hiking. Glacier caves will give you the opportunity to look at the mountain lakes with admiration and marvel at their magnificent beauty. Do you love rafting down raging rivers? At Dormitor you will receive all the necessary equipment, and experienced instructors will accompany you.

You can visit any, even the most prestigious resorts in Montenegro, but still not feel the soul of this country. So be sure to visit the town Cetinje, which is located at the foot of the mountain Lovcen. This place has always been the center of the struggle against the Turkish conquerors, and an organized struggle at that. This is what caused Lovcen and Cetinje to symbolize love for their country, courage, honor, as well as Montenegrin nationality and Montenegro as a state.

👁 Do we book the hotel through Booking as always? In the world, not only Booking exists (🙈 for a high percentage from hotels - we pay!). I’ve been using Rumguru for a long time, it’s really more profitable 💰💰 than Booking.
👁 And for tickets, go to air sales, as an option. It has been known about him for a long time 🐷. But there is a better search engine - Skyscanner - there are more flights, lower prices! 🔥🔥.
👁 And finally, the main thing. How to go on a trip without any hassle? Buy now. This is the kind of thing that includes flights, accommodation, meals and a bunch of other goodies for good money 💰💰.

If you want to combine a beach holiday or a holiday at ski resorts with exciting excursions to historical places or an eco-tour, then you need to go to Montenegro. The second name of this romantic and beautiful country is “Montenegro” - “Black Mountain”. This is the place where you can have a great rest, gain new strength and impressions, learn a lot about the history of this beautiful country and fall in love forever with the magnificent resorts of Montenegro. And there are both sea and ski resorts in this country. So, our article is devoted to holidays in the best resorts in Montenegro.

Montenegro was previously part of Yugoslavia, being a frankly backward part of the country, until it gained independence in 2006, becoming a separate state. And from then on, it began to develop confidently, placing the main emphasis on the development of the tourism industry and balneology. The result: from a depressed Yugoslav region, Montenegro has become a favorite beach and ski destination for many travelers. Montenegro is especially loved by Russians, who confirm this by investing millions in the country’s economy by purchasing real estate in the resorts of Montenegro: villas, apartments, apartments, hotels. Residents of Russia love to relax at the best Montenegrin resorts, which are famous for their climate: hot, but not humid. Summer air temperatures vary from twenty-two to thirty-five degrees, and the water temperature in the Adriatic Sea reaches – twenty-six degrees. What else do the seaside resorts of Montenegro attract our tourists with? There are many reasons: firstly, everything here is environmentally friendly: water, air, beaches; secondly, the beauty of the coast of Montenegro - picturesque coasts, indented by bays and cozy bays, forming numerous beaches, massive black mountains, fast rivers flowing through deep canyons, numerous olive groves, pine forests; thirdly, a rich history - an opportunity to take excursions to the most beautiful medieval cities, admire interesting architecture, get acquainted with the culture and traditions of this region; fourthly, beautiful ski resorts with excellent slopes of varying difficulty - that is, Montenegro has everything that can make your holiday unforgettable.

The territory of Montenegro is divided into three components: the Adriatic Sea coastline, the central strip, and the eastern part - mountains. This geographical location and local climate make Montenegrin resorts, whether sea or ski resorts, unique. Tourists who come on vacation to Montenegro have the opportunity to swim and sunbathe on the beach in the morning, go skiing in the afternoon, fortunately, you need to travel one hundred to twenty kilometers, which is not very long, and in the evening go on an interesting excursion. The infrastructure of Montenegro in the field of winter tourism is well developed, in no way inferior to other famous European ski resorts. And regarding mountain hotels in Montenegro, we can say that these are real attractions in themselves. Beach resorts in Montenegro are located on the Adriatic coast, their concentration is large on the Budva Riviera, there are resorts to the west - in the Bay of Kotor - one of the most picturesque places in Montenegro. The resorts are as follows: Budva, Kotor, Becici, Sveti Stefan, Petrovac, Bar. And Montenegrin resort towns specialize in winter ski holidays: Kolasin, Zabljak. Since Montenegro occupies a small area, all resorts are located very compactly. The country has two airports - in the cities of Tivat and Podgorica; they are located close to resort towns, so tourists do not spend much time on the road.

The best beach resorts in Montenegro on the Adriatic Sea.

Resort Budva- the capital of the administrative center of Montenegro with the same name and the main tourist center of the country, where all the best places for entertainment are concentrated: discos, nightclubs, restaurants, bars, casinos, sports facilities, excellent tennis courts. This resort is suitable for lovers of an active, fun and carefree holiday. Life here does not stop either day or night, and the streets of Budva are always crowded. Budva is famous for its clean beaches, which are many kilometers long, mostly small-pebble, but there are also sandy ones. The most popular beach in the resort of Budva is “Slavenska plaza”, located in the city center. Since it is urban, entry is free; you only need to pay when renting an umbrella or sunbed. The popular paid beach "Mogren" is located in a beautiful bay outside the city. It is free only for guests of the Grand Avala Hotel. Excellent paid beaches are located in a picturesque pine forest, which stands between the cities of Budva and Becici. By the way, near Budva there is a beautiful island of Sveti Nikola - a favorite beach holiday destination for the Montenegrins themselves, they call it “Hawaii”. It doesn’t matter which beach you choose for your holiday: paid or not, it will still be very clean and well-groomed, with excellent beach service. It’s not for nothing that the beaches of the Budva resort are annually awarded the “Blue Flag” - a guarantee of service and quality.

Resort Kotor is a small medieval fortress town located on the beautiful coast of the Bay of Kotor - a small wedge-shaped piece of land at the very edge of a long narrow bay in the shadow of the Lovcen mountain range. The nature here amazes with its majesty. There are not many beaches in Kotor, and they are pebbly. Holidays in Kotor are chosen by people who love peace and quiet, and also love to combine a beach holiday with a rich excursion program. The resort of Kotor, in terms of the presence of historical and architectural monuments, can “give a head start” to any other resort in Montenegro. The city is truly beautiful, there are many ancient buildings left behind by its many conquerors: the Byzantine Empire, Austria, and other states. In general, every street and every corner of this town is permeated with the Italian spirit. What is the amazingly beautiful historical center of Kotor worth?! A labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets connects small squares that surround ancient churches and the mansions of medieval aristocrats. In the city you can hear the sounds of bells and organs coming from ancient churches, each of which has its own legend, and numerous monastery towers silently compete in beauty with the mountain peaks surrounding Kotor. Very important information for tourists planning a holiday in Montenegro: hotels in Kotor are the most inexpensive among hotels in other resort cities. Most hotels here are classified as four stars.

Resort Becici– the town is located near Budva and is known among travelers for its excellent wide sand and pebble beach and superbly developed infrastructure for a carefree beach holiday. Fans of active recreation will like it here, as the resort has many volleyball and basketball courts, tennis courts, gyms, bicycle paths, and there are conditions for practicing various water sports: water skiing, paragliding, rafting.

Every year, the Becici resort hosts an international beach soccer tournament, in which world-famous stars participate. It’s also a good idea for families with children to relax in Becici, as the city has many playgrounds, swings, and carousels. Amateur fishermen feel quite good in Becici. The fishing here is excellent. If you are not a real fisherman and just like to watch this process from the side, then you should go to the “Fish Picnic” - this is a pleasant boat trip, during which you will be fed a delicious lunch prepared from freshly caught fish in front of your eyes and other seafood, which you will wash down with excellent local wine. Holidays at the Becici resort can be both calm and active - everything will depend on your wishes, conditions for the implementation of all your plans are available here!

Resort Sveti Stefan– this resort town is located on the island of Sveti Stefan in the Budva Riviera, six kilometers from Budva and is considered the most expensive seaside resort in Montenegro. Previously, there was a powerful military fort here that protected coastal cities from attacks by pirates. Today, Sveti Stefan is the most unusual resort hotel complex in Europe. If the external architecture of the ancient buildings was not changed, the interior spaces were thoroughly remodeled, turning into luxurious, fashionable rooms. This is where the most expensive apartments in Montenegro are rented. There are fifty-eight top-class apartments, including eight apartments of the famous Villa Milocer. The beaches on the resort island of Sveti Stefan have a total length of two kilometers; they surprise vacationers with beautiful pink sand. The island is connected to the land by a small isthmus, which arose naturally due to layers of gravel deposited by water. Since 2009, this island received a new official name: Aman Sveti Stefan - “Aman Sveti Stefan”.

Resort Petrovac- another one of the best resorts in Montenegro, with a pebble beach. The city is densely surrounded by an array of thickets of pine and olive trees. Holidays in Petrovac are perfect for families with children, as well as curious tourists who, in addition to a beach holiday, want to learn more about the history of the city's medieval and earlier attractions. For example, art lovers have a unique opportunity to admire Roman mosaics, more than two thousand years old, as well as visit the ancient Castello fortress and Byzantine temples. The resort of Petrovac is good for people who have frequent diseases of the respiratory system and lungs; its fresh sea air, diluted with the smell of pine, works wonders. There are three large beaches in Petrovac: Petrovac, Lucice, Buljarice - all of them are very clean, well organized and safe, even for small children. The resort infrastructure is well developed: numerous hotels of different categories provide maximum services, and the service in them, regardless of the star rating of the hotel, is at the highest level. Petrovac is considered a calm resort town, quite quiet.

Resort Bar is a large city in Montenegro, which has about twenty small beaches, their total length is about nine kilometers. A holiday at this resort will be appreciated by lovers of peace and tranquility and families with children. Owners of their own yachts often relax here: not far from the historical center of the city, there is a large port where you can moor your vessel, as well as order service at the docks. Small cruise ships often dock at the port of Bar, always ready to welcome tourists on board. Swimming on clean local beaches is safe; in addition, local beaches are equipped with everything necessary for a quality holiday: sun loungers, umbrellas, you can buy or rent water skis right on the beach. There is also a place to have fun for young people: there are nightclubs, open-air discos, a lot of restaurants offering local cuisine and delicious Montenegrin wines.

The best ski resorts in Montenegro.

Resort Kolasin– a very fashionable ski resort, located next to the Biograd Biosphere Reserve. This proximity guarantees vacationers clean air and beautiful pristine nature. Kolasin has a homely, cozy atmosphere. You can live both in the city itself and in its surroundings. The ski slopes of the Kolasin resort are modern and comfortable, they are suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers. By the way, the cost of equipment rental here is the lowest in Europe!

Resort Zabljak- the center of winter tourism in Montenegro. In addition to traditional ski slopes, mountaineering and hiking are well developed here. And crazy rafting on the stormy Tara River attracts crowds of extreme sports enthusiasts to Montenegro every year. Hotels in Zabljak can be chosen to suit every taste and budget, but generally their star rating varies: from two to four. If you are a wealthy tourist, then the most comfortable villas are at your disposal.

Holidays at the best resorts in Montenegro also attract Russians because Montenegrins love and respect our compatriots very much. There is a saying here that expresses this respectful attitude: “With the Russians, there are three hundred million of us.” There is no language barrier here, there are many similar words, the service staff of all hotels and store clerks speak excellent Russian. Travel around Montenegro - this is a very beautiful and hospitable country, which, in addition to a high-quality holiday on the shores of the beautiful Adriatic Sea, accommodation in cozy hotels and apartments, will surprise you with its numerous historical attractions, amazing natural places, as well as the friendly attitude of the local residents. Having visited Montenegro once, you will certainly want to come back here again and again!

Montenegro is a very beautiful country with beautiful nature, clean Adriatic Sea. It is not surprising that more and more tourists come here every year. If we talk about its resorts, then there is a place for every budget. You can relax on a very budget, without feeling deprived, or you can have a blast by choosing a highly comfortable hotel with all sorts of additional services and SPA programs. Being in Montenegro, in fact, these are just little things, the main thing is that you will be able to appreciate the whole flavor of this beautiful country, the hospitality of the local people, try the local cuisine, enjoy the pristine nature, mountains, lakes.

So, the most popular coast among tourists is Budva; there are many resorts here that have serious differences from each other. Before you go here on vacation, you need to understand what you primarily expect from your vacation, what kind of beaches you want to see: sandy or pebble. How much are you willing to pay for your hotel or apartment?

The Budva coast includes such resorts as: Budva, Becici and Rafailovici, Przno, Sveti Stefan, Milocer, Petrovac, Sutomore, Bar, Ulcinj.

Budva- the most popular place among tourists, this town attracts such a large number of guests primarily because of the pricing policy. There is a lot of inexpensive housing here, including hotels and apartments. Even in the highest season in Budva you can find a place to stay, and at a very economical price. Also, there is a widely developed infrastructure and excellent opportunities for active youth recreation. There are nightclubs, restaurants, shops, bars. With the onset of darkness, the city begins to become completely holy, music plays everywhere, of course, you shouldn’t compare Budva with Ibiza, the scale here is not the same, but nevertheless there is where to have fun and dance. Budva also has excellent opportunities for tennis, diving and paragliding.

The beaches here are pebble mixed with sand. The big disadvantage of this resort is the large number of vacationers. In the summer, there may be a problem with finding a free piece to lay out a towel. Therefore, you will have to get up earlier than you would like.

This resort is ideal for active tourists who want to explore the country on their own by renting a car, as well as for young people. For families with children and elderly people, Budva is not the best place to relax; it is better to find something quieter.

Becici and Rafailovici- two resorts located next to each other. An excellent option for families with children and elderly people. There is no longer as much activity here as in Budva. A large number of hotels gives tourists a choice of where to stay. Here is one of the expensive Splendid 5* hotels, there is also a hotel with its own slides, and the famous Iberostar Bellevue 4* hotel with a large territory, offering its guests all-inclusive meals, which is very rare for Montenegro. The beaches in Becici and Rafailovici are golden, small-pebble. Also a big plus of this place is that all the hotels are located near the sea, but I would like to note that vacationing here is not entirely economical. In summer, the cost of a trip for two for 14 nights/15 days will be from 70,000 rubles at best. There are not many apartments in this place, they are all located on a hill, so the road to the sea will not be very comfortable, going up and down every day will not be very convenient.

For those who like to combine a quiet and relaxing holiday with an active one, this place is perfect due to the fact that you can walk to Budva on your own along the seaside boulevard, the journey will not take 20 minutes, and in the summer there is also a tourist train running here that will help you get there to the city center is much faster.

    Becici/Rafailovici

Pržno- this place was once a fishing village and there were no prospects for tourism to be developed here. Today, Przno, although a tiny place to relax, attracts a large number of tourists. The reason is complete solitude with nature, absence of noise, large hotels and cars. Elderly people who want to relax in a quiet and relaxed environment should come here on holiday. It is possible that families with children may get a little bored here. Since the tourist infrastructure in this place is very small, in the evening the town dies out, only a couple of supermarkets are open.

Saint Stephen- a place where a huge number of tourists come, it is attractive because there is an island hotel located here. Where world celebrities often stay: Sophia Loren, Sylvester Stallone and others. It is not economical to relax in Sveti Stefan itself; the resort is considered respectable, but it is absolutely not big. There are two beaches, paid and free. On a paid basis, to be accommodated you need to pay 50 euros per place. If you want to stay here, but you don’t have such funds, you can rent an apartment for yourself; a day will cost 50-80 euros. The only nuance of this place is that it is very vertical. Therefore, the question arises how convenient it will be for older people and families with small children. The place is absolutely not suitable for young people - it will be very boring. In my opinion, St. Stephen is only suitable for visiting from an educational point of view.

    Saint Stephen

Milocer- a neighbor of St. Stephen, there is only one hotel here, the prices for accommodation in it are very high. Not every tourist can afford this. Milocher has a gorgeous park where a large number of coniferous trees and rare plant species grow. Also, this place is famous for its royal beach with fine sand. It is worth coming here, as well as to Sveti Stefan, for excursion purposes; it is very expensive to stay and it will also be very boring.

Petrovac- a small, very colorful village. I would single it out from everyone on the Budva coast. Here, like nowhere else, you feel that you are in Montenegro. A beautiful embankment with a lot of tourist infrastructure, good beaches with fine pebble sand cannot but attract tourists here. Also, in Petrovac there is an old town where colorful lighting is turned on in the evening. The town is in great demand among tourists, but it is far from budget. The average cost of apartments during the season starts from 50 euros and above. Hotel prices are high. Petrovac is suitable for all categories of tourists, an excellent place for families with children, for the elderly, and for active youth.

    Petrovac

Sutomore- a resort somewhat deprived of natural beauty, but it has long and wide beaches, both sandy and sandy-pebble. The hotel base of this place is somewhat outdated, but there is a wide choice of apartments. The advantage of the resort is its prices; a night in high season will cost from 30 euros. Sutomore has a well-developed infrastructure, there is an active nightlife for young people, an amusement park for children, and a wonderful promenade where most tourists take a walk in the evening. In general, I think that this resort is somewhat undervalued; few people know it on the Russian market.

    Sutomore

Bar- a large industrial and residential city. You can visit it for excursion purposes, but it’s definitely not worth relaxing here.

Ulcinj- the southernmost village, located on the border with Albania, known for its long sandy beaches with a shallow entry into the sea. The public who choose this resort for their holidays are Albanians, a very specific people. Comes on vacation with large families. I would not recommend a holiday in this place, because being in Ulcinj there is no feeling that this is Montenegro. Very poor vegetation, high humidity, other than visiting the Great Beach, there is nothing else to do here. A trip of one day maximum.

    Ulcinj (Great Beach)

So in Montenegro there is another coast - the Hercegnovskaya Riviera. In my opinion, it is the richest in nature, but for the most part, swimming in the sea is only possible through concrete decks or down the stairs. I would like to highlight such places as: Kotor, Perast and Risan - unique, incredibly beautiful villages, mostly foreigners vacation here, the Russian public rarely visits these places, which is a pity.

The most popular place on this coast Herceg Novi. Tours here are expensive, the hotel base is very large and varied, but even a stay in a simple hotel will not be very economical. This place is called the birthplace of artists and poets; many paintings and poems were written here. To understand why, it’s worth visiting Herceg Novi at least once. It is very beautiful and green here, you will constantly feel a great desire to capture everything you see on camera.

The beaches here are pebbly or the entrance to the water is from the pier. A completely different crowd vacations in Herceg Novi, many families with children and elderly people. The undoubted advantage of this place is its proximity to Dubrovnik and the presence of the Igalo health and wellness center.

In this article, we tried to tell you about how different resorts in Montenegro differ, which resorts we considered the best, and which ones we are not ready to advise you.

Budva is the most popular resort in Montenegro

Budva is not a very good option for shopping. They mainly sell things from Turkey and China. But there is something to see in the city. I would like to highlight it with its medieval streets, cozy restaurants, a chic fortress, the bastion of which you can even climb (for a fee) and a marina.

Well, it’s absolutely impossible not to remember about, the road to which we remember especially well.

Herceg Novi is the greenest and most comfortable city in Montenegro

Sveti Stefan Island - a resort closed to visitors

In terms of beaches, Bar is a fairly ordinary resort, there is nothing special here, the beaches are even slightly worse than the national average.

But here you can see the ruins of the old city - very beautiful and unusual.

Ulcinj – if sandy beaches are important to you

    - the southernmost city of Montenegro, almost on the border with. The city is famous for its excellent sandy beaches and a huge number of sunny days a year. Please note that the beaches here will be a bit hot. The beach season here lasts for half a year - from April to November.

The beaches of Ulcinj are covered with basalt sand, which is considered very beneficial for the musculoskeletal system. Gorgeous olive groves grow around the city. There are also disadvantages - the mountains are almost invisible.
