• The largest yacht in the world. The largest yacht

    29.06.2022

The best and therefore the most expensive yacht in the world in 2016 was recognized as the 70-meter yacht "Galactica Super Nova", owned by the Russian oligarch, the owner of Lukoil, Vagit Alekperov.

At the end of September 2016, in Monaco, in the presence of more than 30 thousand guests, a grandiose competitive show took place, where the richest billionaires of the world presented their luxurious yachts - only exclusive vessels with a length of at least 25-30 meters were allowed to participate.

According to the decision of the authoritative jury, the yacht "Galactica Super Nova" received 1st place in the nominations "Best New Yacht" and "Best Interior Design". In addition, as it was previously known that Alekperov's yacht is by far the largest aluminum yacht in the world.

Vagit Alekperov's yacht "Galactica Super Nova" is recognized as the best in the world

"Super Nova" was manufactured and first launched in March 2016 at the shipyards of Heesen Yachts in Oss (Netherlands). The main running characteristic of the vessel is the presence, in addition to the two main propeller engines, also of the third Rolls-Royce water jet engine, due to which the yacht can accelerate to a speed of 30 knots (about 56 km / h) in a minute, being classified as the fastest in your class.

In terms of quality content, "Super Nova" is simply a masterpiece of luxury, given that the world's recognized designer Espen Oeino, together with his eponymous architectural bureau from Monaco, was engaged in its interiors.

It is not surprising that Alikperov's luxurious yacht has 6 cabins for 12 people, a pool with a volume of 13.5 thousand liters. with a waterfall and jacuzzi, a restaurant, a spa area and a helipad. Of the individual features, a glass elevator connecting all decks can be distinguished. Curiously, the bottom of the pool, made of clear glass, provides natural light to the cabin below.

The interiors of the yacht "Galactica Super Nova"

Crystal stairs between decks, silverware and an exquisite model of a sailing ship on the table in the central saloon on the 1st floor became a separate highlight of the interior.

Usually, during the absence of a traveling owner, Galactica Super Nova is located on the piers of Mediterranean resort cities. In particular, this summer, the ship has already managed to check in the port of Tivat in Montenegro, Spanish Valencia and Ibiza, causing considerable admiration among tourists and local residents.

It is interesting that Vagit Alekperov's love for his still future yacht turned out to be so high that the Russian billionaire simply bought the Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts a few years ago, becoming its owner through the Cypriot offshore company Vela fund and paying several tens of millions of euros. And the entire process of building Super Nova, which took a total of more than 3 years, was controlled by Alekperov as a double owner, both as a customer and as a contractor.

As previously reported, Vagit Alekperov is considered one of the richest Russian businessmen, is the founder and head of the Lukoil oil company. According to Forbes magazine, his fortune is estimated at 8.9 billion US dollars, which corresponds to the 6th place in the ranking of the wealthiest citizens of Russia.
